Ann - I'm with you on the excess, that is scandalous - hope you get your car back tomorrow. I had my premiums raised this year, I had protected no claims, but due to idiots I've had to make 2 claims and that has messed up the protection:mad::mad::mad:

Even though I have so called protected no claims I bet the insurance company will come up with plenty of reasons for hiking up the premiums!

I have been threatening to go elsewhere but am not sure anyone will want me if I have had a claim!

You need to go into those websites and select the smiley you want! Elsie has downloaded software, my personal preference is not to download such things ergo I just find an image and post the code, I don't like 3rd party app's on our laptops......

Is that because they act as "spy-ware"?

I use (free) AVG anti-virus - is this ample to detect all viruses?

I also do an Adware (another freebie) check each week to get rid of any little spies who may be lurking around!

LOL - i'm not suggesting anything by the way, it is simply my choice not to have these things on any of our laptops, I do not believe in them. If something is worth having usually you pay, so the only app's I download are those paid for or trusted.

I'm just saying it's not something I like - personal choice, that's all.

But yes, most freeware is riddled with spyware and malware and i'd rather do without the hassle....

Well I got here as soon as I could SW - do you know how long it took hubbie and me to catch up from lunch time!!!! And we had the neighbours knocking on the door to check we were alright - we howled and cried with laughter reading all that you lot had posted

ADVICE Please : I hope i am allowed to do this.

I have just had a phonecall from one of my best friends. I dont know anything about relationships so i need advice. Plus i am biased as i dont trust any men so i would like people to be objective she has given me permission to tell you as you are people i trust.

Her father died earlier this year and then she didnt get the job she wanted and her boyfriend keeps on telling her to snap out of it. He wont commit to her and she really loves him. He seems really nice but he can't commit.What advice would you give to her? I said i would call her back when i had some responses.
