Funny story - while I remember

I got woken up at lunchtime today from an "International" number, so I answer and the lad (Indian call centre) said - "hello, Mr Niddy" to which I said "Who's this" (bear in mind they woke me up!).

He replied he was from a company called XXXXX and went on to say "Do you know we can get all your unsecured debts written off"? To which I replied, really?

He sounded excited at the prospect of the new business and proceeded to explain (incorrectly) that all pre 2007 agreements were wrong and the balances could be wiped. I said, excellent news - so what do you think about secured debts then? Surely if they have not got an enforceable agreement the same applies (actually this is true, it does), he said oh no Mr Niddy - we can only look at unsecured debts. I then asked why? He said it was the government.

Sooooo at this point you can imagine, my blood is boiling cos I detest these scum! So I told him straight, I worked for the Financial Services Ombudsman and was very interested in his remarks and would he mind me using the recording against him, in a formal complaint to the Ministry of Justice - he asked what I meant, and I then read him the riot act!

Suffice to say they will not be calling me again! I mean, imagine it - the inconsiderate little toe-rag woke me up after only 4 hours sleep! Tsk, some people have no shame do they! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Moral here, too many people fall for their Bull !!!!!! stories and it's when they meet someone that can counter argue the actual facts and laws they come unstuck.... poor lad, he never did get his manager to call me back, shame! :o

G'Nite to everyone that is going to bed - hopefully that light humour will cheer you up, even the scum that try to be good guys mess up now and again! (i.e. CMC's - claim management companies) :D

Hi Mighty-Mouseann. I've been reading your thread for the past couple of days and just wanted to say how pleased for you I am that you found this forum and these lovely people. I usually sit around different bits of the forum, so am a bit off my patch on here, but it's good to see that there are nice people throughout the MSE world.

Good luck to you, I'll be following the rest of the thread with crossed fingers for you - here's to 17 UE's (an abbreviation I never had heard of until 2 days ago, and now feel as though I know bucketsful about !! :rotfl:)

I agree entirely, thing is while the friends were looking down on him chances are their parents would be sat at home wasted claiming benefits - while the guy on his hands and knees would be proud as punch bringing in a wage to support his family.

Difference in generations me thinks, if it meant cleaning a loo was the only way to allow the possibility of feeding my kids/wife then i'd not even think twice. That's the problem with society, Labour has made it a claim claim claim business with the best liars coming in best off.

Speaks volumes when a family of 4 are better off on benefits as opposed to working! Well, Tories will change that (I hope)..... I used to spend most my time over on the benefit bashing threads in discussion time so this is not new to me! :) :rotfl: :rotfl:
