Hi
Any cheap deals spotted for an August short break in Barcelona, or any recommendations for nice but reasonable hotels please?
If there is any must do/must see attractions would love to hear of them.
Thanks, HQ:D

For hotels, I'd recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
Hope that helps0 -
Try http://www.expedia.co.uk/default.aspx for flights and hotels.0

There is loads to see and do here is a link to look at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=100268
but do a search and you will find loads more.
1 thing to be aware of August will be very hot and also all locals take pretty much whole of August off. There will be a lot of places closed because of this, don't know to what extent but I have always avoided August because of this.0 -
Thanks for all the help - much appreciated.0

I stayed at the Barcelona Princess in November. It is hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The best rooms, the best views and the best staff. I've stayed at the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh and a 5 star hotel in Paris and they couldn't beat this. And the best thing is I only paid £55 per room. And that was between two people. One thing, ask for the highest room possible. The views are the best in Barcelona. It will blow you away. I must sound like a spammer. Sorry. It was just awesome. I did enjoy the whole trip to. Their isn't a better city to visit. And that's coming from someone who lives in Edinburgh. I got backstage passes to Coldplay when I was there to so maybe I have slightly rose tinted glasses.
Read the reviews online if you don't believe me.

There's a lot to see and do, but I would recommend;
1) La Sagrada Familia ( no need to pay just view from outside)
2) Casa Mila ( amazing up on the roof)
3) The Olympic village and Mont Juic ( take the cable car)
4) Las Ramblas ( just watch your pockets)
5) Neu Camp ( take the guided tour)
Much more but that'l keep you busy for a while.0 -
Thanks for all your advice, be off for a visit in a few weeks time!0
