  • Hi Livinginhope,

love your username by the way.

We decided to pay debt in full, so that we have no nasty records on our files. We are fortunate to have enough money from sale of our house to clear all of our debt and buy new house with a £45-50K mortgage.

Never really crossed our mind that we might stragle getting a mortgage due to poor credit record, now I am wondering??? Although our in house broker (I work for an estate agent) knows my situation and she thinks we will be fine with a small mortgage, as she calls it.

If only my hubby got himself a stable well paid job, we wouldn't have to move. In the last 6 month our house price gone up by £20K!!! But then again, you just never know how house market is going to be. Sorry a bit of loud thinking again.

    Hi Debtomaniak

Very pleased for you that you are coming through your difficult situation. I do hope something turns up for your husband soon job-wise.

Please come back and say "hello" when things are more settled. Do hope to see an achieved debt-free date in your signature and am keeping everything crossed for you.

    All best wishes.

    Lou
  • Hi lswwong,

thank you for your message. I will definetely be screaming & shouting loud enough on this site, in joy of being debt free. I remember reading other people messages saying they became debt free when my hubby and I were just starting with ours, and it was very encouraging.

Soon to be debt free - Debtomaniak.
