In an hour and a half..

we will have dd's 11+ results..i'm quite nervous now i have to say!
I am sitting here mixed feelings really as want her to have the grammer school place but know most of her friends will end up at the comp just up the rd from us, so she would blossom more there i think..i'm also feeling a little crap forgetting all the times i have helped her with homework, tests, hoards of revision books etc and thinking of the times i have stressed at the homework and got cross with her..i will no doubt think it is all my fault if she fails it...good job she isn't fussed hey?!

I've just had a nap and wonder if I've woken up in 1973? LOL

I didn't know they still had the 11+ or grammars/secondary moderns! Whereabouts are you?

Good luck to your girl anyway - I hope she gets the result you want for her.

We had the same feelings when our son sat his enterance exams away back in December..
I think it can at times be a good thing to change schools, as long as the child has been prepared mentally. You can't beat a good school and I would pick this everytime over staying with friends at their school.

    Good Luck

They do in Kent, I went to one and had to do the 11+. IIRC, it was a different coloured form that said you'd got in and your choice of school - I was down the road from Canterbury but closer to the other grammar in Folkestone, so there I went. And the uniform was horrific.

    Good luck though!

Hi..well she got into the local comp which she was pleased with..the first call off her friend was a passed, then another..imagine the face..another passed..then the rest called prob over half are going to the comp so she is happy. Cheepskate i agree with you to a certain extent but my dd is quite quiet and will thrive far more in an environment she is happy in rather than being in a better school.
    Glad its all over with!
We are in Devon btw for those of you who dont have it still..personally i think it should be banned as has been quite stressful for in a way nothing BUT least she tried and we are very proud of her.
