    We can only sympathise.

Unfortunately it's a problem with ebay (and one that isn't actually ebay's fault) - you'll always get the odd complete idiot.

It may be that this is a genuine mistake.

If not, you do have the evidence they cashed the cheque.

contact the seller and ask why he has put an unpaid item dispute in. Tell him that you sent a cheque, and it was cashed - you have asked the bank for proof of this transaction and what account it was cashed in. With the bank having all this information, his bank account number, it is easy to get more of his details so proof is ok. He might have made a mistake and put the claim against you instead of another person - easy done :)

I'd ring him again and ask what's going on. What's his feedback like?

    hiya

it's probably a seller getting confused

if you're a total braindead like me when you sell items, and forget everything, you use selling manager to tick off who's paid and what you've shipped

now, if you tick a box and ebay doesn't store the setting correctly, a 'paid' item can remain in the awaiting payment section

the seller being a numpty (as I am) doesn't associate names, etc, and thinks you havent paid and sends a reminder
...............now, if checkout hasnt been completed by the buyer, then the address doesn't show in the selling manager window, meaning you think he's forgotten the address

the buyer responds to the non paying and that jogs the memory, and the item is apologetically posted

    ...........
please, just email the seller, he's probably goofed, I did when I ended 40 items on the same day last week
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

If he's doing that many transactions, chances are he's mixed you up with someone else. Send him a message or ring him.
