If you have sky tv the full monty but no broadband set up will they give it to you for free?
If not free how much would it be? As i said the full price package is paid?

They can give you internet for free with 2gb usage 2mb speed. Or £5 per month with a 10gb usage and up to 10mb speed. Or they can do £10 per month and give you unlimited usage and up to 20mb speed. This is provided you are in an LLU area for Sky. Type your telephone number into www.samknows.com under exchange search and find out. If not the package you can get is Sky Connect which is £17 per month I believe. Sky do sometimes do deals where you get 6 months free, but if you already have everything I am not sure if they will they usuaully use these incentives to bump your package to HD or something.0

Is the free access ok? it would only be occassional use? Would sky have to send me some kit?:footie:0

The free Sky broadband (Broadband Base) is fine for light usage, if you go over the 2GB usage limit often - I think Sky will just ask you to move up to the next package, which would be £5 a month.
2GB isn't much, but would be fine for occasional light web use, such as browsing and emails. Don't expect to be able to stream music or watch BBC iPlayer though - as this would be likely to push you over the limit.
Sky Base includes a free wireless router - so they would send you the equipment you need without charge. Although I don't know if this changes for existing TV customers - so I'd suggest phoning Sky and just asking them.
There might be a set up charge, but I think this is usually charged for the TV installation part - so it may well be free.0 -
As mrtom says, it's only free if you are on a Sky LLU exchange. What exchange are you on?
2GB cap and 2MBps speed limit is pretty weak by today's standards, I reckon Sky offer this 'free' knowing that most people will then have to pay out the extra fiver to get a proper service. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I have the basic Sky package broadband, for about 2 years now,
got it free, never had a major problem, i had to ring them up once for help and
they got me through the problem in minutes. brilliant.
I also have Skytalk, which was free, this gives me free telephone calls to 01, 02 and 0870 numbers evenings and weekends.
Ask if there any more freebies, you might get a bit of a reduction on your package for a few months.
Good luck.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

as already advised by mrtom:

How can free be anything other than OK? If you find it's not enough for your requirements. you're only looking at a fiver more per month to upgrade it. You may find that your line will only support up to the 2Mbps cap anyway, it depends mainly on your distance from the exchange. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
i wouldnt put number in as i did that before for Talk Talk and they rang and tried to get me to sign up with them!:mad:
I might ring sky would they have to send some kit out or would they just give a security code to type into laptop to connect?:footie:0 -
They would send you a wireless router. We have just started using SKY & are looking to cancel legacy NTL (now virgin (I know, I know....my partner had the connection long before I moved in & I have only just managed to convice him we don't need it)), in an effort to cut costs.
We have actually had the Sky router for some time & are on the base package atm. Have only recently started using the Sky connection as our Virgin router went down & they took ages sorting the issue. I got impatient & dug out the SKY modem...... No probs so far, granted it's not as swift as Virgin, but it costs us nothing & right now that's important to us. Set-up was simple & pain-free.0 -
broadband isnt free, you have to pay for the evening and weekend call package to get it totally free.0
