Pothole Bust Wheel - Council Claim?
Comments
-
not quite sure whether the council want us to look out for potholes or for cyclists/pedestrians/stray dogs/cars pulling out/the speedo/traffic lights etc....?
as motorists we pay out an awful lot of money to the govt/council and the council should be held to account for the way in which they spend it. Thats not much to ask for.0 -

Good on you.
We all pay car tax, council tax, insurance, rip off prices at the pumps. Spend money keeping our cars in good condition and what do we get in return, potholes.
I know potholes are due to the poor weather we have had, but why aren't the council out now repairing, disgusting.
Of cause, we have got to wait for the man with the yellow paint can first.
All the best sarah, hope you get a positive result0 -
A week after I reported the pothole that wrecked a tyre the council have still not made any repairs to the really terrible road.
Is this a good step towards claiming lack of duty of care?
Dated photographs taken.0 -
i hope the councils remove the road bumps now..... they so many holes on the road to slow us down that road bumps are no longer needed :rotfl:
we got a mini 2003 and seem all minis have harsh sporty suspention- a nightmare to drive on bad quality roads... we prefer to drive on the masive mercedes sprinter 3.5 ton van

Well, i have personally made four complainted and a request for to get a refund for my damage on this road,
After taking the advice below i also added to to the 'fill that hole' website where i saw the road mentioned 3 times by other people
and
so far nothing done. not a single thing. so whatever there doing/fixing it isn't near meI get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

Not really- they may have done a visual inspection and they'll look at scheduling it and importance. A pothole on a major A road would be looked at and fixed weeks before one on a residential road.0 -
Well i think the problem is i don't see any repairs going on anywhere.
Having dealt with my council over a number of issues i can honestly say i don't have a great deal of confidence that they have the ability to come out, assess the damage and prioritise the road.
What i think is more likley they are getting complaints, running round like idiots at not doing much and letting things get worseI get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
same as here then everytime you see council workers they are sitting in their vans drinking tea or leaning on shovels watching the world going by0

Thank you for telling me about this website. There are a few potholes that i will be reporting myself, very dangerous as they are on a blind bend were oncoming traffic has a tendency to drift over to the wrong side of the road.:T0 -

Thanks for this. In fact the main A roads round here have really major potholes and I was not refering to a residential road. I haven't seen much work going on repairing potholes, but some roadworks happening where, I would have thought (naively??) that the gangs might well have been diverted to the more urgent repairs.0
