    What's that??

New(ish) Michael Kors fragrance. But (imo) it smells like something out of a pound shop (no offense to pound shops :rotfl:!) Maybe it just doesn't suit me though.

    Hi girls!

Used up this week, a Dove shampoo and conditioner am pinching DD's atm, but also have some unloved L'Oreal lurking which I might use for the odd couple of washes, but have REALLY GONE-OFF and
DON'T BELIEVE for one minute that it's responsible for Cheryl Cole's lustrous locks!!
Bah to L'Oreal, I'm convinced they've changed this stuff and we're worth better!

A few new necessary purchases in.....

BS Hemp hand protector..... this is just the best stuff as my hands were in such improved condition using it and the old one finished a couple of weeks ago. Used in conjunction with my home-made sugar scrub and overnight gloves, the improvement is miraculously rapid. The sugar scrub on a nail brush is very efficient at tidying up the my cuticles as well, which get little attention otherwise :o

Bottle of almond oil for cleansing (£1.69 in Sainsbury's).DD is oil cleansing too now; I buy the oil and she buys the cotton pads!!:p

3 bars of Sainsbury's basics soap (3 for 13p, how ridiculous is that!!:D), but this is to have a go at making OS laundry gloop, so doesn't really count.

Easter pressie for DD.....2 Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses

Here they are in Boots, but I got them in TJ's and only £1 each (last season's shades?)

    http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-Super-Lustrous-Lipgloss_12453/

One is Nude, the other called Pink Pop (I think), a sheer bright pink with a little sparkle. This is a fab product, feels perfect on, long-lasting and silky not sticky. Better still found them by rummaging in the toiletries baskets at TJ Hughes :T Very satisfying place to nose around if you've got a bit of time and need a cheap fix!!

Now a question for you.......any advice about the Lush shampoo bars? Just booked a quick sunshine (hopefully) hol for beginning of April. Travelling light, so want to maximise my liquids allowance and minimise my baggage weight, so thought this would be a good idea.
My hair is long and coloured, so I don't want it to feel stripped, need it to feel moisturised and stay soft.
    Is this a good product?
Does it make a good lather? Does it last...could I cut it in half and would that last a week. Flying Ryanair on the way out , so every gramme of luggage weight saved counts!!
Could I use it for body washing too and economise further? (depending on the hotel toiletries which are always variable aren't they!!)
Do you rub the bar onto wet hair or lather it up in your hands?
Might I get away without using conditioner with it ....do they make a solid conditioner bar? Grr! Why haven't I got any of those little sachets left!!

Sorry for so many questions, but I know you'll know the answers!!!! :rotfl:

Looking at my bathroom cabinets, I should be able to start buying new skincare products in May, so I'll start to get them then. I think my skin can cope until then.

I love lush shampoo bars and have got on with every kind I have used except the karma. (love the smell but it gave me a dry scalp) My hair is coloured, just over shoulder length and naturally dry but they leave mine soft and in good condtion. Half would easily last you a week as each bar is meant to last at least 60 washes or so. (I use my latest one every three days or so and have had it since well before christmas) Godiva is a shampoo & condtioner in one but I don't know how good the conditioning is as I have never used it. They also do a solid conditioner called Jungle which gets good reviews on their site and youtube.

When I had shorter hair I just used to rub it on my scalp, now its longer I lather up in my hands and then rub on. I ended up using the Karma Komba as a body soap due to the dry scalp and it worked a treat.

    Hope that helps :D

Bronnie, the Godiva shamppo bar is a two in one, so you could save space there. They do make a solid conditioner bar as well, called Jungle, but I've no idea what it's like.

They last forever, so you could cut it in half (not sure how easy it would be though, and whether it would crumble much). What you could do is go into Lush and ask if you can try a sample of a couple and that might be enough to see you through. I've been given a sample of Trichomania, the coconut solid shampoo (it's not in a bar) before. I've also used that as soap before (got it mixed up with my Snowcake soap) and it was fine, but Karma Komba made me a bit itchy the time I used that as soap.

I wet mine first and then rub it onto wet hair, or rather stroke it on I should say.

    Hope that helps.

I used up a L'Eau D'Issey body lotion sachet last night. WIBA? Never in a million. The texture of the lotion was lovely, very moisturising and left skin with a beautiful velvety feel, but I hated the fragrance. Keep me awake as well - I nearly got up for a shower!

I've got about one more application of Boots foot cream left, so will need to pick another one up - it's the one thing I don't actually have a stash of. Oh actually I might have a Lush fair trade foot lotion, but I like the intensive one for nights.

Just started on a Vanilla Dee-lite body lotion I got as a freebie. Lovely smell, but I hope it's not overpowering as I've still got a cold and can't tell. Skin feels nice with it as well.

Oh I knew there was something else. I was looking for something int he hall last night when I found a brown cardboard box. Opened it up and found the freebie I'd got with a Lush order a couple of months ago - four bath bombs and three small soaps. I'd totally forgotten about it.

Fay and Jaq...........thank for you both so much for your comprehensive answers:T

Always get a bit worried using new products for the first time on holiday!

Have just had a look at the Lush site and Godiva sounds just what I'm looking for and gets fab reviews too! I didn't realise they were little round tablets, wouldn't spoil it by cutting it up! As I said, I need shampoo now anyway, so I think I'll buy one now and start using it straight away. Although like you said, should probably see if I can get samples first. Nearest Lush is Chester though and I don't get there very often. It's obviously going to last a few weeks and I can make sure it suits me before I go! I will have almond oil with me on holiday anyway, so can always use a little of that to have a deep condition if necessary!!

    Thanks for your advice :A

Glad to know I'm not the only 'user-up' around: I always end up using the last of the toothpaste and shower gel in our house as nobody else does. I feel virtuous being able to get rid of the tubes/bottles, though, as I know some people in this house would just leave them there to accumulate, or not put the bottles in the recycling bin.
