No buying toiletries in March challenge!

  • Only essential purchases - Oraldene for the gap where my wisdom tooth was and (slightly less essential) Marie Claire for the Neal's Yard freebie (also 20% off voucher inside), which is great as I'll be finished my cleanser by the end of the month.

However, raised over £60 on eBay getting rid of unused nail polish and an unused NARS blusher. Put all the money into my savings account though :)

And! I bought a Flake when I was in the supermarket, it had a Benefit competition, which I went online and entered - won a lipgloss. That'll be going on eBay too!

NaB- It could well have been me misreading! Was it you who tried the hair remover thingy (not an immobiliser but that's the word that springs to mind) on your bikini line?
If not (snigger!) Kaz has got it wrong again!

Not me lovely but i did have an incident where as i couldnt remove the wax strips from my bikini line and was walking around the house trying to find things to remove them with:eek::rotfl:. Dh was highly amused to say the least:p

Err that might be an epilator and if it was then it could be me :o infact yes I tried to use the epilator on my bikini line!! Why? Because the instructions said I could, even though it did warn me it would be more painful compared to using it on my legs :rotfl:

Won't be painting my nails today because they still haven't grown back from me biting them off and I've still got plenty of sanding/decorating to do so it won't be worth it.
:( and :rotfl::D. poor thing hope youve recovered lovely

I'm new to this but have been meaning to sort out my toiletries stash for ages so today was the day.

    I've only done my stores that I keep in the airing cupboard but I have;

14 shower gels of various descriptions
    4 pump handwashes
    10 toothbrushes
    4 tubes of toothpaste
    6 sun products
    5 razors
5 packets of wipes in various guises
    6 bottles of shampoo
    5 deodorants
    3 tubs of face pads
    2 boxes of hair treatments
    6 body moisturisers
    2 sets of facial mositurisers
5 boxes of tampons (can still never find one when I need them)
    Lots of odd bits

I haven't even looked in the two bathroom cabinets, the very large leather storage box in our ensuite or the two bamboo waste bins I keep stuff in.

I also have about 20 bottles of perfume and six boxes of make-up and nail varnish.

I'm going to order the stuff in the airing cupboard first and then put them back before I attempt anything else.

    Wow great stash and welcome

    Nab

am struggling to find time for a holiday in May at the moment,my busiest time is from the 11th May till 30th June but then OHs assistants want to take the time off as they have school children plus I somehow managed to buy tickets for 3 shows in may and 1 long day out.OH will not go abroad in summer as he does not like it too hot so ideal time would be june but i am too busy:(
trying to save money too with a Tesco holiday but thye make it sooo complicated with you having to go to each holiday company web site and figure out what the price would be if not booked online and then OH says no to early flights(which they all seem to be:mad:) so I end up doing my own thing again usually in Portugal as this year he won't go to Spain because ETA might blow him up or greece because of the state they are in and so it goes on.......enough to send a girl to the B shop for mass comfort
buying of toiletries(can't even be driven to drink as given it up for lent!)

at the rate I am going the holiday will be a daytrip to the seaside:(....in the rain:(:(:(:(

p.s now broken 3 nails so tonight will file all short and paint with clear polish, off to Clarins red room tomorrow for She treat so will let you know how I get on:)
Ooh Rosie good luck with the holiday, hope you sort the oh out, bribery perhaps??

My nails have started flaking this last week so have cut them down quite short and am going for a dark polish tonight, maybe blue or very dark redy black.
    Why is his?

I have exactly the same. I leave an emergency stash in each handbag I own (I'm never quite sure when I'll need one, how I wish I was one of those won who did, done to the minute know....). I have some in my suitcase, in the car, at DH's london place (where I've never been) in the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and yet when I need one they are NEVER there.

The tampon fairy is in cahoots with the odd sock fairy....they are a nasty, nasty duo.

This is sooooo true, since dd ive become irregular and now am always getting caught out. I use to come on on a friday at 1pm every 4 weeks for 3 days (sorry if tni) , now its whenever and however and so much more painful, i was told periods got less painful the more kids you had, but i thought maybe my husband would think i was taking it a bit too far if i asked for another one:D:rotfl:.

OK- 296 posts into march! I need to subscribe again, I missed you all !

I have been using up quite a lot:
Sainsburys Coconut conditioner -WIBA yes its one of my faves
Happy time body lotion- WIBA- no it smells of calpol.
Dove silk shower gel- WIBA- it ws ok, prefer Waitrose cinammon cakes which is usually cheaper so when I go to waitrose that is next.
used sachet of DIOR facial serum that I got in a mag WIBA no way OH said my face seemed really sticky and he found a bit of "product" on his own face that he thought was his own dry skin peeling off ( it wasnt at all!) Not good!
Used up dove soaps now in the laundry gloop, it has done the dry excema the world of good to stop using commercial powders.

I have now relented and started using the large blue carex shower gel. Actually its really not bad to be honest, I do prefer more "cream style" shower washes but I wil plough on with this till I go to waitrose and get cin cakes again, or find something I do like round the £1 mark ( eg cashmere moments or honey natural source)

The carex is the last SG - the stash of them is almost gone!! :T
I Have decided I will not spend more than £1 on a shower gel for the rest of this year as there is really no need there are a few I really like that are often on offer/ £1 shops/ wilkos.
Looks like these hair vouchers need loads of booking in advance so I am going to have no choice but to book in at the usual salon. I go to trevor sorbie usually. I did see a voucher on vouchercloud for 50% off a cut & BD at a different salon but im not sure about going new places unless its practically free. :o

Hair long overdue a cut now so will try to book in at TS this weekend.

Have to admit as I havent been on here, a lot less pampering has been done! Think it calls for tonight, immac the legs, papmper feet and toes, face mask and the full gamut.

    better get back into it
    :D
Welcome back and go to it :)

**off topic** I was wondering about that - I always used to get pain before and during but ever since DS i could go without even knowing it was there (if it wasn't for the obvious).

    sorry............ back on topic.............

Lol! I'm like that - always every 4th Tue at 10am. I start to worry if even a few mins late!!!!

Back on topic... I've been having a lovely pamper session this evening and feel very refreshed! I've put some perfume on too that I'm trying to use up. Does anyone else do this? I'm only going to bed!

Used up something else today! It was an Aveda Foot Relief. WIBA? This is my dilemma! i love it, but even without the huge stash I'm wondering if I can justify £15.50 on a foot cream or whether to just use my body butter on my feet?!?

I sometimes put perfume on before bed - its OK!

IKWYM about Aveda foot relief but I'm trying to use up about 1 zillion tubes of Scholl cream my mum bought me (works for Scholl) so I may never need to buy any Aveda again (cries).
