I have been told that I can order a wheelie trolley case thing for my laptop and papers for work so that I don't have to carry them - so pleased as this should help my back - I just need a desk assessment now as the chair and desk are appalling.
My chair has been delivered 5 months after I started my new job, and they took the instructions off it before they gave it to me  I got a message saying someone would come and set it up and do a DSE assessment... to which I said no thanks, give me the instructions and I'll set it up how the physio wants. Head of H&S agreed... idiot turns up to do the DSE assessment so was sent away with a flea in his ear and a request for instructions. Given that he's the reason it took so long to get things sorted, as he kept insisting that the DSE results were fine so I should be, I'm not letting him near me...

Sorry... anyway, well done on the wheely case but don't over fill it as you have to lift it further (ground to car/desk) and they're very very heavy (ask them to find you a light-weight one... my small work bag/cabin bag for travelling is lighter than most wheeled laptop cases!). While you're waiting for the assessment, have a look online for DSE self-assessment forms, as there are lots around and it means you can highlight the issues and focus on those when you finally get someone round. In fact, if it's that bad, consider asking for an occupational health referral and then they'll have to make the appropriate adjustments to your work environment.

Sun is shining... so much to do today... lots of teleconferences this afternoon so hopefully I'll get the ironing done! Out on a course this evening, which is a nuisance...

It's very cold and frosty out there this morning but we have to walk to school as I reckon there is just enough fuel to drop the car off. We get the new one today :)

PEN PEN and SOAPPIE - positive vibes for today

PIGPEN - gutted you haven't heard anything. I t seems this new email service is a pile of toosh. Will a letter be sent from the school or could you ring admissions to find out (I was amazed how quick they answered when I called yesterday!)

I am on a library trip with my class this morning and thankfully although it is cold, the sun is shining so should be a nice walk.

Hope you get the email soon too, ours dont start sending them out until after 5pm and I wont get one as its only those who applied online get email, we're waiting on the snailsK

I DID apply online.. saved taking forms back into school because I knew I'd forget until last minute.. Plus I wanted to know yesterday!

It is stupid they can't even get their act together to organise a few emails that say one of 21 school.. it can't be that difficult.. It must just be a case of generate email button pressed..send!

They'll send a letter to me not the school but they saaid they'd email and didn't!! I am well pee'd off! I only applied online this year as they started it a couple of years ago and those children all knew before they went to school and DS3 is desperate to know. The letter won't be here until tomorrow or Thursday.. 4 days to get a letter 1 mile up the road!

Piggers - we were supposed to get an email too but I'm still waiting! I only know where DD is going because I logged on to the system with the password I used when filling the forms in and it told me on there. Ridiculous system here as it crashed for 4 hours yesterday - surely they know how many people will be logging on! Fingers crossed for today xx

Just popped on to look at the list but managed a rant too....not bad even by my standards xx

Hmm... not great so far. But living room has been hoovered and partially dusted (the bits that I do with the hoover), and the stove lit. Better have a shower, then I can run the WM through a clean cycle and bung in more laundry.... don't think I'll get much work done today :o:p
