Your flight details will give you your luggage allowance .
As little as 15 kilos to 25 is normal
    ( so if its an easyjet ... 15 )

Protection . I have my own thoughts , but will allow others to comment :D

Easyjet checked luggage allowance is 20kg not 15kg.

Before you book have a look at the big tour operators package holiday prices, they can occasionally beat the do it yourself prices on other sites so it is worth a look.

But you wont get the journey any cheaper.

Amazed at the price ..and its all inclusive , the joys of going late Sept.

Reviews are mixed but it is cheap.

Back to protection , its a long time til Sept , anything could happen
might well be worth looking at .
Also you will require Travel insurance , take it you have started to get passports
    ( they are expensive)

It's usual for Ryanair to charge for luggage, they charge for whatever they can. It depends how long you're going for, if it's a week or less, you might get away with hand luggage. Me and OH went for four days, and I managed to fit enough clothes and stuff to last me the four days (mini toiletry things, little brush, fitted a towel and 300 ciggies I bought there too) OH had a slightly bigger bag, so he took my excess (a pair of flip flops) How much do you REALLY need? Could you get away with two bikinis/pairs of pants/no socks to reduce what you take (you can rinse bikinis out, and you can get hand wash liquid for clothes, they'll dry overnight on the balcony, this is what me and OH did)

I have two daughters 19/21 , solved heavy luggage by telling them they had to carry their own cases , yes the cases had wheels , but stairs and rough ground might mean 'carry'
