And yes I'm a bit paranoid, I also use a GoogleSharing proxy in Firefox!!0 -
If Apple do approve it, it would probably be wise to try it out first before you decide you'll use it.
Opara 10.5 for the Mac looks interesting though; I'll have to download it and have a play around.
well with the supposed same app that is already in existance for various other devices it does a bloody good job, 9 times out of 10 better than the local internet browser IMOBowling_4_Gold wrote:Sorry, could you say that again please? One of those bloomin' flying pigs knocked into me.
LOL, i know where your coming from, i personally dont expect it to make it past apples crack team of scrooges, but very little has been said by either side, so im wondering if they are communicating behind the scenes to try and iron out issues.
until something official pops up its all just speculation.
but yes i will be trialing it to see if its as good as the opera mobile beta on other platforms.
and who knows, if opera can get through, maybe firefox for the iphone will be on the way.0 -
Used IE8 yesterday accidentally when searching for something and up popped "your computer is infected... blah blah" on one website.
Rogue antispyware and IE seem to be made for each other..
Firefox with noscript if you have any wit at all..0 -

Opera is a lot better than many other mobile browsers, but they've historically been pretty awful to start with, and Safari is a very good one.LOL, i know where your coming from, i personally dont expect it to make it past apples crack team of scrooges, but very little has been said by either side, so im wondering if they are communicating behind the scenes to try and iron out issues.

Apple should certainly allow other browsers into the app store. Time will tell, though I honestly don't think they can put it off forever. Microsoft are now having to offer a bowser ballot screen in Windows thanks in large part to Opera's machinations.0 -
i tried chrome but there is on 'favorite' option so you cant store your favorite websites like you can in IE or FF.
There is, its just called Bookmarks instead of favourites
Click the star to add something to your bookmarks.
Then, press CTRL + SHIFT + B to access them, or select that option from the tools menu, with the little spanner option in the top right. Orrrrr press CTRL + B to display them along the top under the address bar.0 -
So much an individual judgment but definitely FF for me.
See here also.
I would not touch IE even if you paid me to :rotfl:
It's relentless.

Always found Opera to be the best browser. Speedy with lots of functions without the need to install add-ons.0

true but this was a complaint about microsofts software which runs on a wide variety of hardwares and configurations, all of which hold the possibility of running another operating system, should the users wish to do so.... things with the iphone is, they are built to run apples operating system and work with apples programming. so as far as monopolies go, if apple started making their mobile OS or OS X installable on varying compatible machines (yes i know OS X has been modified to run on intel hardware but this isnt apples doing) then im sure the same case can be applied and users will be notified of a choice of browsers. until then, apple keep making software for their own hardware, and theres not much you can do about that.0 -

I'm an Opera fan too. Been using it for the past 18 months and find it to my liking. I have tried the various incarnations of Firefox but just couldn't get along with it. If you're not really bothered about the add-ons like me then I personally found it wasn't any better than IE, certainly as far as speed was concerned anyway.
I am slowly warming to Chrome and use it as back-up browser for a couple of sites that don't render properly in Opera. I particularly like the AdBlock for Chrome which works seamlessly.0 -
I'm still using firefox as I really like it, but OH switched to chrome a while ago, which I can't say I like as much. That said neither of us use IE anymore if we don't have to!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
