In response to the Thorntons Melts fiasco i have received a response from thorntons
I'm sorry to hear that our store colleagues weren't as up-to-speed as we'd have liked.
In this instance, our stores were only acting on the brief which they had received from head office. We hadn't anticipated people winning more than once so the stores were briefed as per the T&Cs to only accept one voucher per person, this is entirely my error, sorry!
The competition should have been fun for our customers but it sounds as though we've made it quite embarrassing for you to collect the prize that you've won legitimately, I'm so sorry about this. To help put this right I'd like to send you a box of 200g Melts through the post. Please send me your postal address and I'll get it straight out to you.
I now feel sorry for the store staff if they were only following Head Office instructions/orders.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -

Hi,
It means that you can't enter on behalf of someone else using their details. It is also designed to stop the type of companies who enter on mass for their paid subscribers.
Hope that helps
For future reference it is best to ask general questions in the discussion thread here. This post will no doubt get moved there at some point.0 -
Hi everyone... can anyone advise. I really should stay away from vote for me comps as they really do my head in.. however, I got tempted and I got through to the final ten. BUT there are two entries in the final ten that completely disregard the rules.
I've asked the company running the comp on twitter and they've ignored me, I asked on the blog underneath the votes and they deleted it. Do people think it's worth complaining before the final result or should I just leave it and hope they don't win.
Rules clearly state that you had to present an image with a slogan on it..."The slogan of our newest camera, the NX10 is “Why Capture? Create!”.
Use this slogan, capture your precious moments and upload the image/photo on a site you use.
You can write the slogan on a plain banner, and let your friend photography you, but you can also spray the slogan on your wall and upload a photo of your wall.
However, images dedicated to the slogan will also be eligible to participation. Meaning, there are often tiny things, we used to ignore or pay less attention to, so, capturing your very precious moments will, maybe, receive a little plus.
But keep in mind, the “Why Capture? Create!” has to be visible somewhere.
It’s your choice, and the more creative the better. However, photos which might contain anything immortal are automatically excluded from the event.
Furthermore, all participants will be responsible for their own uploads, so avoid copying copyright-protected contents.

(I bolded the bit in the quote).
These two photos are really quite good, but no where do they include the slogan. I could have submitted far better pictures if they didn't need the slogan on them as I'm sure could lots more people.
So what do people think... do I kick up a stink now and probably get my votes completely ignored or wait and see?
Any advise gratefully received.comps total: Jan 2010 £6000:j

I've also left a comment and will vote for you (but not sure which one is yours!). Person who took #7 says they though it could be 'implied'! WTH? Don't get that. The wording is clear enough isn't it? Seems dodgy to me. And the lightbulb one.....they took that without help of any kind of software?
If they keep ignoring you maybe take it further? Not sure who, someone else could probably advise better, as they are clearly ignoring their T&C's!Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
I had a similar problem with a slogan comp, you had to write something about your pet in no more than 30 words and the winner used 40+. When I complained, they said that the comp was meant to be fun and people shouldn't take it so seriously. NICE!Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

This has probably been asked before, but when you cond the postcards AIOE, for the Reveal competitions, how do you address it? Do you just put Reveal competitions, then the address.0

Hi guys - didn't want to bump the original comp so putting this info here re: the Argos Eon instant win - I entered this with my mobile number foolishly:D getting the last digit of my mobile wrong
I have come into missed calls from them since & tonight they caught me - they have been phoning my home number even though I am TPS & x directory
I asked to speak to a manager (who was very nice) who said Argos pass the contact details to them so beware putting in wrong numbers might not be enough0
