I'm surprised the violiners haven't been championing the news in the article below.

It is about how more levels of consumer protection measures are due to come out, binding housebuilders to "fixed completion dates".

It puts through one big issue they want but I think it might affect prices too, as it adds higher levels of risk on to developers. Nothing comes for free you dreamy violiners. [Except the forces of the crash should overpower what may otherwise be increased costs/prices as we're caught in the deflationary vortex.]

It's fine with me also... if it stops the forum scapegoating whine, putting blame onto others, making up laws of how it should be, shirking individual responsibility for actions.

It narks me off something chronic when the violiners come out with "It wasn't your fault," - "You couldn't have known," - "If I were a judge I'd be sympathtetic to the cruelness of the system and find in your favour for the delay" ect.

Those violiners who believe that when such protection hasn't been in in force, buyers who charged ahead to buy what for many people would be considered to be one of the most important/expensive purchases and commitments of their lives (except for the BTL portfolio builders, just adding yet another mad-expensive slavebox to their collection), and bought without any guarantees about the time-frame for competition of a build, or withdrawal clauses - should feel perfectly entitled to not feel any responsibility.

That it's almost always the evil developers fault/blame only for delays.. or the banks' fault when it comes to competition and they .won't lend you the required amount of money you've contractually agreed to buy at.
