My husband has just been contacted by CSA and they want double the amount of money that he has been paying plus £18,000 just like that. Apparently he was really nasty on the phone was the CSA chap and said we had to speak to our relatives for this money. My question is we live in my house and everything is in my name so does it mean that the CSA could put a claim on the house even though his name is not on it. The CSA chap is ringing again tomorrow to see what we have sorted out, which is basically nothing as our relatives do not have that type of money.

No the CSA cannot add a charge to your property as the NRP is not part owner of it so don't worry there!! Basically there isn't much they can do immediately but they may go for enforcement via the courts which will take time. Do they have a liability order for the debt yet?0

The CSA are open on Sundays? When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

If the said man calls again politely tell him to put it in writing .Take his name and phone number etc .I wouldn't worry about it too much as i can't see them phoning like that .0 -
Any chance of some more details? Seeing as we're having a spate of wind ups on here at the moment....
How many children is this for? what is the history? what is the relationship with the PWC?
Are you absolutely sure it was the CSA???? Do they work on a Sunday??Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -

I have received a call from them on a Sunday. Last year they rang me to tell me that they had caught up with my ex husband and that they would be arranging payments consisting of regualr maintenance plus arrears.
I must admit that i didn't realise that they workedd on Sundays before then and I commented on this to the person I spoke to. She told me that a skeleton staff do work Sundays to catch up with work, but they do not answer the phone.0 -
We had a similar call about a year ago, but they wanted £34,000 from us, the guy (R.Norris) in Enforcement was quite nasty, again suggested to us, that we contact relatives, try and get a loan, or possible re-mortgage - although we know they are not allowed to do this!!
The lovely gentleman then gave us 2 weeks to come up with money, and then kindly rang back on Christmas Eve demanding payment - how disgusting, to ring anyone like that on Christmas Eve!!!!!
Anyway outcome was, we couldn't raise money, the arrears are under sppeal and at Triunal stage now, and we have proven they are grossly incorrect, but CSA being what they are after our Christmas Eve phonecall, they swiftly proceeded to get a Liaility Order, CCJ, and in our case interim charge on house. So they will very quickly obtain the LO, and CCJ against him.
I suggest you get an account breakdown, appeal if possibleand go from there, you could also contact your MP, as the have a hotline to CSA, some MP's are better than others, ours was hopeless, but he is Labour, and steppping down soon, so not really interested.
Good luck0 -
There is a big push on at the moment to establish payments for cases that no payments are being received so very possibly been an overtime exercise - if you can make a payment of as much as you can towards the debt they will allow the remainder to be paid over a period of timeComp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0
