I don't understand why the OP thinks the gran should get extra help with the rent? Why? The rent doesn't go up if the son is living there, does it?
Also, if the gran is 60 why is she on JSA? Why is she not on State Pension or Pension Credit?
This post does seem a little strange, maybe the OP has not explained herself properly.
