perhaps the carer needs a break! it is a very issolated life leaving you exhausted day in day out.a few hours restbite is not enough!
If the o p situation is any thing like mine the house will be a complete mess after this many years of caring & in need of repair & decorating ? trying to post on here while that exhausted may be difficult to explain fully. I can't believe some of the horrible comments.:(
Yes, I care for my severely disabled child both day and night. That is why I suggested respite care.
I don't consider that my comments were horrible. I considered the OP's situation and made constructive suggestions that could benefit both the OP and her son. I also commented on how it was coming across to other posters adn myself, as nothing in the OP showed any concern for the child, but seemed to concentrate on financial details and how to retain as many benefits as possible.
My son will never be able to live independently and will probably not even be able to live in a supported living situation, but his welfare is always the most important thing to me. I know all about exhaustion - the bags under my eyes caused by never having more than two hours sleep at a time prove it. Please read my post properly and you will find a couple of suggestions for respite which will not impact on the financial position of the OP.0 -

The OP did come across as wanting to move the child around in the hope of maximising benefit.*SIGH*0 -
