Well I was under the impression that the computer runs better with out unnecessary applications and the like and also that it would give me more space on the C drive, - but have I got that wrong???????

    Hi

I've had broadband for 4 years and never thought of uninstalling the modem drivers. Would it really make a pc much faster?

Yes, but removing the modem drivers will neither give you more drive space nor make the machine perform faster. Not at all. IMHO ;)

The amount of space taken up by modem drivers on your hard drive will be tiny and any difference in performance will be so small as to be un-noticable.

It won't hurt if you remove them though.

But the OP is correct in that is is generally good policy to remove unused software from a PC. One redundant program doesn't do any harm, but they do have a habit of building up...

No you haven't, but modem drivers take up very little space, However - I would remove them. Remove as much extraneous crap from your OS as you can.

Remember that you are still using a modem to get broadband though and don't remove the drivers for that.
