why do some buyers expect their item so quickly!

  • For these reason i try and put listings on ebay on a Saturday afternoon/evening, just so that way they have Saturday or Sunday to pay and that then they should also understand that PO are closed. If i get payment over the weekend i will post Monday on my way home from work as have a PO in my village and just make it before it shuts at 5:30.

I only sell very very very rarely now anyway.

I always use 2nd class and most of the time it arrives next day and a lot of my feedback mentions that I am 'much quicker' than other sellers, so maybe my delivery office drinks Red Bull?

In the last week I even have some feedback that says they had their item 16 hours after buying it, and that went 2nd class as well. They bought late afternoon just as I was going to pO, I shoved their book into a jiffy bag and it arrived by 9am next morning.

    its the reverse
1st and 2nd are treated the same unless workload dictates it needs to be left in favour of 1st class

I have noticed that my 2nd class items if stamped take 3-4 days on average, but where the PO uses a label from the machine it more often than not arrives next day. It is all put in seperate bags as my PO as she has all the bags lined up behind her.

Obviously though the moment i need something to definitely arrive next day and use first class it rarely does!

2nd class mail just has to go in the back of the van, (they pull a curtain across at the start of the trip so it can't see what a good time the 1st class mail is having.)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Just been checking my DSRs.

Seems my dispatch times have taken a hit due to the snow and the lack of delivery - got some 1s and 2s. Everything is dispatched same/next day. I know there's nothing more I can do than already doing- however, I'm looking to invest in a personal rocket booster so each package can be delivered to the door 5 minutes after payment is received.

I don't often ebay but I do run a small online shop and we get some very similar things. The most frequent is somebody puts an order through and selects 2nd class post (which we say can take up to 5 days, just to be safe) and then call or email to say they need it in 2 days time at the latest.

The best one was only 2 weeks ago, a lady placed an order late on Friday night and selected 2nd class post then emailed on Tuesday asking why it wasn't there. I replied stating that because the order was placed on Friday it was dispatched Monday and by 2nd class post as she had selected which can take up to 5 working days. The customer responded by saying that 2nd class post takes 2 days and Saturday is now a working day so her order should have been dispatched over the weekend. :wall:
