why do some buyers expect their item so quickly!

i have my ebay set to dispatches within 3 days, buyer pays 4pm on 24th, i send morning of 26th i get an 'item not recieved question' today 27th less than 72 hours after they paid! I can't imagine what they'd have have said if it had took me 3 days to post.
I do my best to post things quickly by going to the po every other day i'm only a private seller but i think thats pretty reasonable.
What more do some buyers expect? I try my best to keep dsr's up but bet i get a low mark for this.

  • I send my items same day up to 3pm payment. They go via a 2-3 day service and I still get awful emails. I had one this week from someone who bought on Sunday and by Tuesday they sent a 'if I don't get the item tomorrow I will be disputing with Paypal and you WILL get a neg'. I checked his tracking and actually the item had been attempted delivery that morning. I politely let him know this and on Friday I had an email 'I have JUST got this and am NOT impressed with your delivery'. He had obviously had to go to the delivery office to get it.

All you can do, is smile. Life is too short for some and clearly too long for others!
  • thanks i am glad its not just me! i suppose the nice buyers who are really gratefull are the ones who make up for the bad ones.

I've had emails first thing on Monday morning demanding to know where the goods are that they bought late on Saturday night....:D

I occasionally get very indignant emails asking what the heck I'm playing it because they can see from my feedback that other eBayers have got their items already when they were bought the same day as their item - and they're still waiting! :p

But my favourites are the "can you post it right now!!!! Because I need it for my Mum's birthday tomorrow!!!!

(and they've opted for Second Class post to save 20p!) :rotfl:

Basically hon, you've got to laugh at these people. It's the only way to get through. ;)

If you do your best most of the time, most people are reasonable human beings and your DSRs wll be Ok.

Ok... One last one before I go.

Me "Just checking that everything was Ok with your order honey cos I've only had a couple of feedback the last couple of weeks due to taking time off and My DSRS have taken a bit of a nosedive.

So just checking that you're happy really cherub?"

eBayer: "Oh you don't have to worry about me blossom, I was thrilled to bits. I gave you a gold star for everything!"

I bought an item over 6 days ago, and the seller states on the listing 8-9 days delivery, so I intend to wait until then before I contact them. I always do. Frankly I expect the same back. I do get the odd buyer who doesn't have much patience, and want the item sent the same day or even for them to collect it, when I don't provide that option!

I think it is becasue that there are now so many sellers that offer same or next day dispatch and first class postage, that the expectation is rising across the whole site.

Maybe it is that a lot of people just assume they are "buying off ebay", not "buying from an individual via ebay". If they get used to receiving items within 48hrs of payment, they will wonder why some take longer.

nope not new as has over 400 pos feedback..ah well will give her till monday then send a polite email
  • You can't believe the cheek of some people - I wouldn't dream of sending a message til about a least a week or 10 days after payment. When you buy things from the websites of high street shops it can take that long for them to deliver!

Maybe she's mixed you up with some other seller and she thinks she paid? That's all I can think of hon.

Chin up chick. It could be worse - at least we're not the ones who are batty / petty / just plain weird! :D
