Airflow wraps are still the best I've used,

I don't think the D'lish nappies are worth £15, but I've not really got on with any stuffable nappy as well as with the nappy and wrap system, and the fit was bad for my LO, so it leaked badly almost immediately. I'm not sure how much that helps!

Lauren - I've not had my baby yet so am talking theoretically, I have a mix of tots bots rainbows, motherease one size and some prefolds, and mainly motherease wraps - I've been advised that many people still find nappy and wrap the best! I've been lucky to be given most of mine or get them second hand very reasonably so I'm hoping to stick to those! I've bought some wraps new.

From what I've read it's all about preference!

Lauren- I tried nappies out as a tester a while back (about 2 years ago)- the ones I found best were bumgenius, and believe it or not, my cotton tots bots with the airflow (motherease wraps). I think it can be a false economy to buy all these new fancy nappies! All the best with bubs!

Totbots and popo wraps all the way here.. I won't even entertain anything else.. I have a few WAHM nappies as well in bigger sizes from DD5.

I resorted to making my own with the last 2!!

I LOVED the bright bots terry squares too.. :D

have a look at www.usednappies.co.uk.. loads of bargains to be had and you can buy several different ones and have a look (I have invested in a huge stash of fluffles.. oh they are just tooooooo cute!)

I personally haven't got on well with the Itti Bittis. They're very popular and are soo cute but I just can't get a good fit on LO. Plus they are sizes (S, M, L) so triple the investment from birth - potty. Not very MSE!

Tots Bots are good and a nappy and wrap system is fantastic for newborn explosions. For easy of use I also like the new TotsBots Easyfits and Bumgenius.

Ten years ago I had a baby in washable nappies (shaped ones, with a shaped plastic wrap) all the way from birth to potty.

I'm now expecting another baby and I've been given a full set of washables but being second hand there's no instructions. (This time they are the ones you fold in three like a big cloth and then put a plastic wrap over- do they call them pre-folds?).

I remember I used to use paper liners in the nappies and throw away the solids and put the nappies into a bucket with water and something else in until I had a wash load. Then just drain the water off and put them in the machine. Pretty simple really.

What was that something else though? I have long since forgotten. It was a white powder and you got it from the home baking aisle at the supermarket. Anyone know what it would have been and how much one needs in a third to a half of a bucket of water?

Oh and what wash cycle/temperature do they go on? I've forgotten that too! Do the plastic wraps have to be washed at a different temperature?
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
