My Very Long Journey

  • Hi Woowoo finally had it today. Only need a few pounds to clear the dreaded phone bill so hopefully send cheque off on Friday when Tax credits arrive to cover the final bit. I'm really peeved that I've had to pay nearly £200 on an extra bill. That could have come off the Next bill and made a significant reduction. I know I won't be able to pay much off for the next 2 months as I've got my holiday in July and need to get some odds and ends for DD and DS. It's really getting me down at the moment :(

    Finally!

It is incredibly frustrating when you had allocated spare money off your debt in your head and then an unexpected bill comes in, but just focus on the fact that at least you had the money for the bill and you didn't have to struggle to find it.

Stick with it you are making progress x

Great news the cheque has arrived they took their time. Can you not pay £1 a week remember it all helps and i find it very theraputic even if it pennies. I think its the process of making a payment no matter how much.
I paid £2.19 off cc this morning just to round it down :D
Still 16 days until payday off to photo that pile off stuff i keep falling over :rotfl:and get some on ebay

It might only have been £2.19 Herewego, but its another £2.19 less they can charge you interest on!

  • Your both right. I've got some tax credits coming in tomorrow so I'll see if I can pay anything off with that.

  • Have just made a small payment to Next for £6.45. It's just to round my balance off and it makes me feel as if I'm doing something however small. Feel as if I've done absolutely nothing on the debt front this month (well I haven't really) and the next two months are going to be tough. Got DS's birthday end of May so this months pay had been spoken to and also going away in July and even though it's paid for and I have spending money there's still a few things I need. I have got Child Benefit on Tuesday but as the bank account is looking pretty unhealthy at the moment I'll probably need that for petrol :(

  • Hi DTBDF from a similar D2BDF! :D

Just wanted to offer encouragement on your diary, I'm really liking the pay any amount regularly to the debt theory and might adopt it myself. I might actually go and have a hunt around to see what I can find in drawers etc lol.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks D2BDF I find that little payments however small do eventually make a difference. Have just found a stray £10 in my account so I've transferred it to the Next account. Off to update the sig :)
