    It's been mentioned on another thread, robt....usual response to competition, cowboy, newbie, what does he know about energy etc.
    The energy industry needs a bloody good shakeup, and new entrants into the market should be encouraged.

    Remember that large suppliers can buy in larger bulk - which means that they are probably still cheaper than any new supplier would be.

    But how much monies do these big companies and share holders take? if he is doing a no profit makeing energy deal to customers so what he pays for it he sells at the same price I would say it has to be cheaper.

    British Gas makes £36 per year on each domestic customer. Can he really buy gas/electricity at £36 per year cheaper than BG sell it at? I highly doubt it.

    Already being discussed here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2300911

    ... and I wouldn't class them as a supplier since they don't supply gas or electricity at present.

    However, if you watch working lunch and are interested in a supplier that does supply in via a non-profit making company, I'm surprised you didin't see Ebico on there a couple of weeks back.

    Look at the way the MD of that company appears to squirm when faced with some basic questions such as where do you buy the energy from in the first place, because you don't generate it yourselves.
    (Here's the actual answer - they purchase it from SSE, their supply partner ;))

    Btw, did you know that every lawful landlord in this country who has is properties on sub-meters also already supplies gas & electricity 'at cost' :cool:

    Edit: Are you sure you saw this new company on Friday's working Lunch?
    I've just watched the programme on iPlayer and didn't notice them mentioned.

    Perhaps someone could pinpoint the time when they were mentioned please?

    Ebico prices are aimed at non-profit maker type people, a niche market but non the less 3.675pence per kwh aint bad considering that their partner suppliers are also re-selling from the Russians.
    And do Southern Electric have their own storage faciilities, doubt it, so maybe buy from BG anyway.

    Scottish & Southern, owners of Southern Electric, own and operate the UK's largest onshore gas storage facility at Hornsea in East Yorkshire.

    In a joint venture with Statoil (UK), they are developing what will become the UK’s largest onshore gas storage facility, at Aldbrough.

    I can't understand why so many people are being so negative about At Cost Energy. It sounds like a great idea to me. I think we should give the guy a chance and see what he comes up with. After all it costs nothing to register interest and we are not committed to change to them if we don't like their charges!

    The Spider and the Fly
    • by Mary Howitt
    “Will you step into my parlour?” said the spider to the fly;
    “’Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy.
    The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
    And I have many pretty things to show when you are there.”..............

    ........... With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew
    Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue;
    Thinking only of her crested head — poor foolish thing! At last,
    Up jumped the cunning spider, and fiercely held her fast.
    He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den,
    Within his little parlour; but she ne’er came out again! ;)
    There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't! ;)
