Ditto - order cancelled. He told him 3 times I was interested in getting a good deal, but it wasn't a convenient time at 5.15 with 2 hungry under 5s. Ended up telling him I'd look on the web and closed the phone, whilst hearing him STILL talking on the other end.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Just remember, if anyone is planning to take up an alternative deal, and used a cashback site, they could firstly cancel the order which you signed up to meaning no sale for the cashback site, then processing it as a new order for their telesales team instead.0

We are still processing your mobile phone order which unfortunately means that we cannot deliver the mobile phone package to you on the date you originally requested.
We will be trying to contact you to update you on the progress of your order and to arrange a new delivery date however if you would like to call us, our telephone number is 0844 481 5869 - please note that we are open Monday to Saturday 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Thank you for your patience in this matter and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
We look forward to speaking to you shortly.
Yours sincerely

Wouldn't it have been easier to send one email saying it had been cancelled instead of constantly saying it's being 'processed'. Will be amazed if I get the phone after this!0 -
What a delightful show of incompetence! After a telephone call late this afternoon cancelling my order, I've just rec'd this:
Order status online still says 'Processing Application' too.Further to our recent communication, we regret to inform you that we are still experiencing delays in processing your order. Your new delivery date is 5 March 2010.If you are not available to take delivery on this date the courier, normally Royal Mail, will leave a card explaining how to arrange a collection or re delivery of the package. Please accept our sincere apologies for this delay and any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Another email overnight - just been online and finally
"Our records show that your order has been cancelled. Due to data protection, we are unable to provide specific information for the cancellation, however, generally, reasons include failing to meet the network providers criteria, credit status, lack of funds. Any monies debited will automatically be refunded within 10 working days. We am sorry that we cannot help you further with this matter."
Notice their general reasons all blame me...
never an error on their website!!!!!!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Same for me, been cancelled over phone but got email saying postponed.0 -
at first me personally thinks that it was a marketing ploy to generate interest on the new x6, though the lack of an alternative goodwill deal makes me think otherwise...anyone had someone call them for an alternative deal? i really want the phone and willing to to pay around no more than £200 hundred for the contract....wonder if i can haggle with them...
the numbsculls behind dial a phone should work at turning this price mistake round for them...1500 is alot of potential customer marketing material they've gained as well as a bad taste!0 -
Just had mine cancelled. Offering alternative deal which not too bad plus £50 cash. Need to check it out on comparision sites. Defo room for haggling,0

I've just had ANOTHER email informing me of a delayed delivery.
So far:
Sunday evening c. 23.45 I ordered a genio + iPod +cashback.
Monday 12.15 I rec'd email confirmation and delivery date of Tuesday
Tuesday 1.21am I rec'd email telling me delivery postponed due to 'unforeseen processing problem'.
Wednesday 00.38 I rec'd another email informing me of postponed delivery but they are working to solve it as a 'matter of urgency'
Wednesday around 16.00 I get a call from DAP informing me order cancelled due to web error.
Thursday 10.20am message in my DAP account telling me order cancelled but they can't tell me why!! Order still showing as being processed.
Thursday around 11.00am DAP ring back to pitch sales nonsense to me but I ignore the phone.
Thursday 12.24 message in my DAP account telling me it's my fault the order was cancelled but due to DPA they can't tell me why. Order now showing as cancelled on my DAP account.
Thursday 13.15 email AND message in my DAP account telling me delivery delayed but they are 'We are working to resolve this issue as a matter of urgency to prevent any further delay in your delivery.'
Whilst I am not bitter/angry/cross etc about not getting the phone and I understand fully that errors happen, god knows I've made enough in my life, this company is now doing nothing but illustrate to me that I have very probably had a lucky escape. How on earth could they cope with cashback requests and the suchlike if they can't successfully cancel my order and apologise for the monumental c!ck up that has been the way this was all dealt with?!"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Is there any mention of this on their website? I have been using DAP for years and luckily have never missed a cashback but one of the reasons I went with them was because I thought I read somewhere you only lose out on cashbacks that are late. The will still honour the rest as long as you get them to DAP on time.Dinosteveus wrote: »I've used DAP for cashback about 4 years ago. The thing is as mentioned before, you really DO need to be organised. Miss one cashback claim and you lose the rest.
Been there, done it.
Others such as carphonewarehouse are notorous for using this tactic and I would dread to think I could get stung by DAP for a lapse of concentration too.0
