Sorry to hear about your problems Buffy. As someone who has started her job search by sending her CV out to two agencies and then heard NOTHING you have my sympathies. I'm not seeing anything up here in the NE on a project management / regeneration angle. I've worked out that I will have about enough money to keep me for about a year but I could see me having to move down to the South West.

I will have a leaving do in about a month which will be attended by a fair few people I like and a few people who could have handled my redundancy a whole lot better. My manager was telling me for months that it was all up in the air and he didn't know what was happening whilst writing reports saying they were retaining his post and mine was being made redundant (legally they can't even do this!). He didn't bother to tell me this. Left me to read it on the computer in the minutes of the meeting.

So I'm resisting requests to go out for a meal and hope to minimise the amount I spend by just going for a drink. Will also need to check my drinking to make sure I don't burn all my bridges or punch anyone (I think you can sense who my top candidate would be!)

On a good note I've just had a message from a guy I spoke to briefly at my POF night out (Plenty of Fish). He was one of the men without a hairy chest out or a medallion. He looks quite nice.

    Yes Beanie, it was. :)

Although it's a bit complicated (as ever) because I know I shouldn't be seeing him...AND there's someone else I like. :wall:

You're making perfect sense Buffy. My job pays really well FULL TIME, but as soon as I could afford not to work full time, I reduced my hours, so have never felt the financial benefit of the career I've worked so hard for. I may do one day, but probably not until N is much older, and at that point I will probably need a bigger house so will have to spend all the extra money on mortgage payments (and uni funds!)

Oooh good news on the message Butti!

Perhaps it got pulled out by the chain of his medallion when he took it off... ;)

Hugs Buffy, I hope you can salvage something of the weekend.

Butti, have you thought about companies like TPAS?

    Well done Katsu.

Well, I've just had a nice coffee with a friend - £1.80 for three cups, and I'd forgotten she owed me £8. Just sitting down for a bit then taking the chicken round to sisters for her to cook for tonight, not sure how it ended up in my shopping bag.

Going to go to Starbucks with yet more of my vouchers to do some OU work then.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Ames - at least you realised you still had the chicken before it went yukky.

Am still feeling a bit shell-shocked from buying the car yesterday (well, agreeing to buy the car). We can afford it but will need to be careful this month to keep everything paid for OK. We should ideally have waited another month, but hey, it is still a far better position to be in than we have been for a long time.

I have decided - no random charity shop spends for the month to help keep us straight. Looking at Jan's bank statement I spent £30 on books and bits in charity shops, I don't need to, so I *will* resist.

Want us to go look for more kids and send them too? :rotfl: There are at least 4 in the next couple of houses in my street, I could have a whip round and rush them up :rotfl:
