On the SW diet, eating apples raw are classed as 'free' food - you can eat as many as you like, but if you stew them you have to start counting them as syns - something to do with the sugar content.
Same as bananas - eat as many as you like raw, but mash them up and you have to syn them
I think on SW it's also to do with the amount of calories needed to 'process' the food. Eating a raw apple will take more calories than eating stewed ones as the chewing etc is less. At least that's what I think I remember. It is also due to the change to the actual substance of the food itself as Pap mentioned.
I think.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -

Thanks guys, although I'm still none the wiser! I guess if it's only as a dessert once a week or so it can't do too much harm, and it's still got to be better than chocolate or whatever.
Elfen, we were talking about that ad campaign in my lecture today, how it's a power thing and telling people what to do and how to live their lives. Part of it had to be changed at the last minute, because there was outrage about the diabetes claims. Originally it said 'if you eat badly you will get diabetes', parents were up in arms because kids with type 1, which isn't related to diet, would get bullied and told it was their own fault. The whole campaign drives me mad, someone in class was talking about a pregnant friend of hers who said she planned to bottle feed and was told that was the wrong answer and she had to breastfeed!
And time to get off my soapbox...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
