Me? A troll? Oh give over! :rotfl::rotfl:

I already know all that which you have stated above.

I just don't agree with anyone having their personal home address posted on a forum!

We've had this happen before here, a couple of weeks ago actually, where the lady in question had unsavoury characters hammering her door down! The people calling there weren't from this forum (not that we were aware of anyway) but her address was posted here and a few of us asked the poster to remove it and they did, with no problems at all.
There is a BIG difference between posting a "personal home address" and a publicized business address, unless of course you run your business from home, in which case there is NO DIFFERENCE at all.

In this case it is not their "personal home address" it the very address available on public domain, so there is no reason why I would remove it (although I was never asked).

There is plenty of "personal details" I could have posted, from photographs to friends n family, mobile phone number\home number. Of course I know my limit, and would not post anything I would deem "too personal", simply because I follow the MSE rules to the book.

I can imagine in her case, any unsavoury people hammering at her door, would be no different to someone demanding a refund for faulty goods at PCWORLD.

Besides which, it is quite possible this character has constantly had a queue of unhappy customers, hammering at her door for a refund. Thats the risk you take when you run a business fro your own home, especially if it is a dodgy business, its inevitable.

All I think this is doing is throwing the thread off track, you asked me a question and I have answered it for you, either you was trolling, mistaken or (as I will put it down as), you was tired and it was late.

I really don't think there is anything else we need to say to each other that is not relevant to this thread, so rather than let the thread go off track, I would rather just disagree with you. :D:D

Card ~ Do people walk around with card payment facilities on them?

Yes, many 'mobile traders' do - plumbers, breakdown companies and market traders can get a unit which can take debit and credit card payments in minutes, whether in the middle of a field or at a customers house.

    Similar devices like this;Payware-Mobile-Case.jpg

Frightening really, Bailiffs use them to secure payment, indeed its not uncommon for debt collectors or landlords to carry them around - personally I dont like them.

Ahh right, never seen or had anyone do a job and produce one of those you see.

We've just had 3 jobs done at the new house, plus 2 seperate blokes are coming on Monday to do things, and we have to pay carpet fitters on Friday afternoon ~ all of those jobs were/are cash.

I wouldn't see anything untoward in someone coming to my home and asking to be paid in cash only, on site (shop/premesis etc) I would though of course!

i've also noticed little divaz proclaim on their homepage:

    Public Liability Insured

and in their terms and conditions it states:

"Little Divaz has full public liability insurance."

there is a link to the insurance certificate (pdf document):

    http://www.littledivaz.co.uk/resources/liability.pdf

however, you will notice that this is a certificate of employer liability insurance.

this is not the same thing as public liability insurance, it is quite different.

Employers' Liability Insurance will meet the cost of compensation for injuries sustained to your employees (or illnesses), whether caused on or off site.

    (source: www.bytestart.co.uk)

Public Liability insurance will cover you if someone is accidentally injured by you or your business operation. It will also cover you if you damage third party property while on business.

    (source: www.bytestart.co.uk)

anyone taking matters to trading standards will certainly want to mention this.

i've also noticed, that in their privacy policy, it states:

"For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 our data controller is Katie Brown."

i have searched the register of data controllers and can find no record of katie brown, katie melissa brown, little divaz uk or any data controller registered at her trading address.

i have contacted the information commissioner's office to clarify this point and am waiting for a response.

i have sent the following email to the bbc:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to draw your attention to the following website, which features the BBC logo on it.

    http://www.littledivaz.co.uk/pampered-pals-party.php

The logo appears several times across various pages of this commercial website.

This suggests some sort of "endorsement" by the BBC.

As a licence fee payer, I am concerned to protect the integrity and independence of the BBC.

Can you confirm that you have given permission for the logo to be used, and if not, will you ensure that the BBC logo is not misused in this way?

    Regards.
    jacktyler.
