I'm prepared to accept that they could probably cancel the whole deal, but I doubt that they could insist you go ahead with it if they have promised a cashback and then cancelled it! Or do you think otherwise? As long as one keeps records (screenshots etc) of the promises they have made then I would have thought that the only options open would be go ahead with the deal promised (cashback and all), or cancel it. Thoughts?

Regardless of any screenshots, a retailer can correct errors (I know, I had one order via phones4u web site got declined for that reason). When you place an order, its just that - placed an order. They then process it, at which point they can accept or decline. If it was going to be so easy, I would have placed about 100 orders by now. :D

I would wait till they have finished their updates - or phone them on the free 0800 number to get confirmation of a particular offer. They will tell you its incorrect on web.

Thanks. The point I was making earlier was that, just as they could cancel it if they have made a mistake, I would have thought that you could also cancel it if they said "sorry, we made a mistake, no cashback available" - ie I doubt that you would end up with a £15 contract when you expected it to be less (after cashback). Agree?

Regarding telephoning - there is a lot of discussion going on over at hotukdeals.com regarding this, and someone has stated there that he did telephone and was told that the deal was online only. Someone else has also stated that he was told this is all a big mistake, so no consensus! But the general feel over there seems to be that its worth trying, because the worst that can happen is that the deal gets cancelled (ie not that you would get forced into a worse deal than promised). My point about keeping screenshots is in case you get into an argument with dial-a-phone about exactly what was on offer.

    Any thoughts? Always welcome...

I can understand you can order it and receive it and return it if its wrong.

But they will not dispatch it in first place, simply because they will not accept the order.

You can try but I would not bother. The o2 tariff change started yesterday and those tariffs are more expensive than the old ones.

They had two errors on their site about 2 or 3 weeks ago which I enquired about myself via email. I had a response from them saying because of the volumes offers on their site, they could not find the deal I was referring. I had to email them the link. DOH. So that is how clever their system is.

But they did correct those two offers later on. The o2 changes are what is causing all these too good to be true offers. It will get fixed soon. Phone them and quote the exact offer reference to get confirmation of what the offer is.

Their terms and conditions state acknowledge that DSRs apply ( as they HAVE to) and so you can return the whole package back to them with 7 days but at your own cost, making sure that the phone is sent back in its oroginal packaging and you have not started the "airtime" contract.

Good Luck - as a born pessimist I doubt whether they will honour the contract - but wouldn't it be great if they did!

    Thanks for the link.

However, I'm always wary of review sites. people only ever find time to review companies if service was over the top great or if it was rubbish.

I saw Dial a Phone were P4U, which is why I was considering them for the next offer.

MJ - who does have better deals pls? If CPW I shall avoid! I don't think I can be doing with e2save and the like after reading this board over the past couple of years.

Buymobilephones, followed by Beepy, followed by E2Save. First is (in my view) higher risk, second is "give them a miss", third is... well - cpw!.

i was looking at a couple of these deals which it appears u are in profit. if i did 2 of them could i send both requested bills in the same envelope or do u think u would need to send them seperately?

is the consensus that these deals are incorrect tho?

    thanks

Depends on the T&Cs, I know that e2save require one bill per envelope.

Please is there an "Idiots guide to phone cashback" on here or elsewhere please?

I've never had my own mobile phone as I use a works one but this kind of deal would persuade me to!

    Thanks.
