    yup have to agree I wouldn't either they're not a company I would trust.
    I have seen lots about this Microsoft effort but the same goes for them would you really want them controlling your system ?

    However I would not under any circumstances put Virgin in control of my machine. Does the word ' Phorm ' ring a bell with anyone ? You should read some of these pages before you put the Virgin cuckoo in your nest:

    Didn't realise they were thinking about using DPI.

    In which case, I wouldn't use (or recommend) the VM supplied software and i'd use some of the free stuff posted earlier on in the thread

    They already [ past tense ] did, they along with BT ran what the euphemistically called trials, but forgot to tell their customers what they and Kent Ertegrul were doing with our private information, companies such as Symantec and F-Secure and others blacklisted phorm as SpyWare.

    Of course trials are only something you were doing anyway but were caught out doing - so to avoid being known as a data pimp .. .. . I know - lets tell the mugs it was a trial.

    Google of course collect similar [ deep packet ] info, they however are external to your PC, the reason I jumped in on this thread is that people here were advocating putting Virgin internal - this side of your firewall / protection.

    Just google for Kent Ertegrul - or - Phorm

    My mccafee antivirus software is about to expire. I guess its either avast or microsoft essentials for me!!! I still can't believe that virgin media can do this to their customers. Thanks guys for all your help and support
