Nigel Farage does England proud by absolutely destroying unelected EU President

The head of the European parliament has summoned British Eurosceptic MEP Nigel Farage over his tirade against European Council President Herman van Rompuy.
Parliament President Jerzy Buzek is expected to reprimand Mr Farage at the meeting on Tuesday.
The UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader could face a suspension.
Mr Farage drew jeers on Wednesday when he told the chamber Mr Van Rompuy had “the charisma of a damp rag” and the appearance of a “low-grade bank clerk”.
The attack came as Mr Van Rompuy, a former Belgian prime minister, made his maiden appearance in parliament in Brussels.

I wonder if the EC has a secret police service yet? Hmmm... watch out Nige! :silenced:There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

The EU is to democracy what the Nazis where to race relations.
Nigel Farage is precisely correct in 'most' of what he says. The EU Foreign Minister is a British woman who also has NEVER been elected to any office and was last seen in the UK running one of Gordo's quangos.
The EU is largely a joke organisation, which is self serving, anti democratic and costing the UK £Bn's just for the 'honour' of belonging.0 -
But did you know, we joined the European Union 30 years before they even announced to the public we did

The European Union was in fact a conspiracy theory back then

Despite the fact that his point was valid, all he did was appear like a small-minded boor. If the impression you want to create of "England" is that you are unable to present a coherent, rational argument without dropping to personal insults then, you're right, he did you proud.
Frankly, it should make you hang your head in shame. What goes around - comes around0 -
Nigel have BALLS, he made his point in a way everyone will take note = demagogy
Pretty good I would say and well calculated, it evoked a thread on MSE ini't?!You take my life when you do take the means whereby I live.

Without the personal insults it wouldn't have got the news coverage.
Go UKIP I say. I'm planning to hand my local seat in the GE to the Libdems by voting UKIP rater than Tory.0 -

Blimey, a discussion about the EU which breaches Godwin's law in four posts! :rotfl::whistle:Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -
That's a pretty shameful action from Mr Farage.
Regardless of political leanings or even an individual's personality, one does not make such a derogatory comment against the EU's President.
If this was the UK/Commons, there'd be outrage if Cameron stood up and called Brown a one-eyed boring old to$$er. Brown maybe all those things BUT it is not professional nor what we expect from our elected members.
All this shows is Mr Farage's huge lack of tact and speech writing skills. A proper politician would have launched a barbed attack but made it sound silky smooth rather than just standing up and calling the President a c**t.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0
