Its nice to be back, thanks.

Well i completed the job, I'l let you guys know how for anyone else.

I checked the manifold and everything seems fine, no leaks or anything.
I bought the speedfit 4 way manifold extension from plumbcentre, cut the end of each of the original copper manifolds off but i couldn't get the extention to fit so i had to get a straight through connector to lengthen the available pipe so i could fit the manifold on. I did this on the top manifold (return) but on the bottom one (feed) there wasn't enough room to even do that. So i cut one of the 10mm feeds off and was then able to add the manifold, adding the feed i cut off into one of the 4 available outlets on the manifold extension.

Then i just ran one more feed and return down to the big radiator downstairs and it works a treat. All rads are now piping hot throughout!! Result!!!!

Its looks abit of a mess in there but basically with the outlets on the manifolds that i haven't used i have just looped some of pipe round out of one into the other and put a stop end on another, all on the same manifold of course. I didn't put a loop from the feed to the return manifold.

Anyway well chuffed now, just gonna periodically check for leaks but its all speedfit so i shouldn't have a problem because i've used it before to good effect.

Thanks for all the input guys, and a special thanks to Canucklehead for identifying the problem, thanks alot mate.

    Well done!
The way the weather has been you'll be using the heating for a little while yet.

  • The only real way to know if you need a power flush is to have your water quality tested. The powerflush association will do that for free by post. No point in finding out the hard way, that you didn't need it.
