Where can i make some savings? Updated

My Df has gone to work today and mentioned the wedding and asked his mates for theirs partners and childrens names (DF is dyslexic so he has to ask his mates to write them down so i have the spelt correctly as they have weird names) and 2 of them have refused to give names saying, we wont be going to your wedding we have better things to do, so that has just reduced my budget by 4 adults & 4 childrens food and drink and 1 whole table decoration, plus other bits and bobs. So about £277 saved.
There loss not ours.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Thats so horrid but great for you! Guess you can afford the chair covers now! x0

Not horrid at all, in fact im super pleased i never liked then as they can be so nasty at time to DF when he's at work but DF insisted he invite all his workmates, he thought some would kick up a fuss and cause even more problems at work, at least it their fault there not coming now and they cant give him any grief for not being invited.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Yes thats exactly what they said, DF came in a little upset and i said, there loss not ours. He said do i bother inviting the rest. I said yes as they are the people you really want there.
DF is 23 but a lot of his workmates ar 40 plus as their engineers and DF started there as an aprentice and is now qualified.
DF is a little miffed but i said they will soon realise their error in a few months when it is all everyone is talking about the wedding and the stag do.
But now he's worrying that everyone else will say no, to which o replied if they do who cares, it saves us money and its all about me and you anyway.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Aww that was really mean. your DF should have turned round smiled and said 'thank goodness you said that' and walked off chuckling to himself.
Horrible people are sometimes, there's no wonder I don't like them lol.
Right as for money saving. Have a good look at your list and have a think to see if there is anything on there that you could make yourself.
What about mini crystal trees for centre-pieces with pretty twinkling lights? - Yes I did watch what Katie did next and the Narnia thing :rotfl:but I thought it was fab and I like crystal trees.
If you really want chair covers can you buy material and make them yourself?
I agree with cheap rings as that's what we did and will upgrade sometime in the future.
I don't get the sweets business but that's what you want so have you found the cheapest you can? It's a pity Woolies isn't closing down you could have had boxes of sweets cheap - sob.
Can you give us an image of what you're wanting to create please as I don't have a very good imagination but if I've seen something like you describe perhaps someone could suggest ways of doing things nicely - but cheap.
Apart from booking the date at the register office and buying my wedding ring back in September, I sorted out my weddingy stuff on Monday/ Tuesday and got married on Thursday so if you do change your mind about something don't think it's necessarily too late to alter it (as long as you don't panic lol)Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
you could encorporate the sweeties into the centre piece and have a small sweetie display in the middle of each table - two birds. one pot of money.Bump due 22nd September0
-
The sweetie table is NOT coming out till the night time. None of the glass match and there all different sizes and heights PLUS its part of our evening buffet so using it as center peieces is a no go.
We are going to a wedding fair at our venue tommorrow, so we will see what all the exhibitors are offering, i got a few qoutes from a few of them a few weeks back in my mums name cos i wanted to see if the wedding fayre discount they will be offering really does exist, so i have something to compare it to.
I shall keep racking my brains.
One thought i have been having is, WHAT IF MOST OF OUR GUESTS SAY THEY CANT MAKE IT?:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

WOOHOO
I have manahed to find a veil online that is 90% similar to the one i have on order with the bridal shop, thing is the one online costs £20 and the one in the bridal shop costs £400, i just have to ring the shop and tell them i want to cancel it as im using my sisters or something along those lines.
So thats even more money saved.
Yes i know i was daft paying that amount of money for the veil but this is the 1st one i have seen online that comes even close to the one in the shop as it has crystals all around the edge and is cathedral lenth and only 1 tier.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
