I reserved 2 B&D cordless strimmers at MerryHill branch of Argos. 2 hours later at 6.30pm I tried to pay for my goods using the Pay & Reserve machine. It come up with the original price of £59.99. I went straight to Customer Services to be told on their computer screen it is £59.99 and that the offer of £13.75 had ended on January 14th. They wouldnt budge even though it was only 2 hours before I had reserved 2 online. They tried to do the "the price you pay is the price instore" routine but I told them this was 2 HOURS ! I came away empty handed.

Once I got home I looked online and the price was still £13.75 so tried to order for home delivery. No luck - out of stock. Then we tried to phone up home delivery to see what they could do. I spoke to 3 different people who all saw its price of £13.75. Nobody could do anything.

Then I decided to call the mgr of the store and spoke to the sales mgr. She was very (at the time) helpful and said that although yes , she could see the price it stated online she was unable to over ride such a huge reduction and would have to call me back the following day (today). She did say however if I had took screen shots of the online price I would have had the price honoured. I didnt think I would have any problems so why would I need to do this ?

This morning I phoned head office and spoke to customer services and explained my story. She told me that the price was going up tomorrow and how it IS £13.75 . She would call the mgr of MerryHill and get them to sell it to me for that price.

I was a happy bunny - for 5 minutes anyway. She called me back 5 minutes later to say that infact her mgr had over ridden her and I COULD NOT have it at that price afterall.

So ... I am now extreamly annoyed at being messed about let alone out of pocket for numerous phone calls and petrol last night to pick these strimmers up.

    Same thing happened to me.
Details of offers put on internet at about 1500 hours.
Ordered for store collection strimmer and mower at offer price at 16oo hours.
Went to store with printed copies of offers at 1800 hours.
Refused to sell at offer price stating the get out :-

'The price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect.'

Manager tried to get further information and told me that these prices were
    for internet buyers only.

No information to that effect on site.

    Not a happy bunny !

My son fancies a camera mobile phone and I decided to look in the Clearance Section and have managed to reserve a Motorola V300 but as we have only ever had Samsung phones before we don't know anything about Motorola phones. Can anybody recommend or otherwise please.

    Hi Anic

I just bought a Motorola V80 - the phone itself is great but the software on the phone could be better - I have had like 15 different mobile phones so I can quickly adapt to a new phone, I am sure your son can too it will just take a bit of getting used to i.e. texting will be slightly different (and slower!).

Motorola do make good phones though so if it is a good price go for it!

    Josh :)
