  • I also don't like colour blocking in charity shops. Takes much more effort to find anything I like so I just don't bother if it's like that.

I love having a nosy in charity shops, and have spats when i can of trawling the charity shops. Especially when im after bits for drama and will also when im out anyway and have time will pop into one as im passing.
Managed to get a couple of books in good condition for £2 each, and find also the british heart foundation a tad pricey.

I don't like the colour blocking either and tend to avoid the shops that do it. It makes it really hard to find what you like. Find that the smaller charities are better value, I realise that they are trying to get as much as possible for the charity but some prices are just ridiculous!

Called to drop some donations at the furniture branch of our local hospice cs to find they now have a few rails of quality clothes. I got some Next jeans for £3 that had been worn once at the most. Well pleased.

I love calling in charity shops but many round my way are now expensive tat. Well worn and stained clothes higher priced than they were new. I do most of my charity shopping when away from home.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

I don't post often but just wanted to say that I have always got most of my clothes from CS and I really like the colour blocking. It looks much less overwhelming when you walk in as the missmatched look just looks messy to me. I do tend to wear the same colours as well so it makes it easier. Just thought I'd offer a different opinion!

bohemia - I wouldnt mind the colour blocking so much - IF they grouped the skirts together and actually sorted the sizes! if you wear just black and white then I suppose its not a hassle to sort through the rails - but if you dont mind WHAT colour your bargain is - I dont have all day to look at EVERY item!
The charity shop I mention just puts everything in one colour together and the skirts/trousers are all mixed up and the sizes too! I really CANNOT see the sense in this! most women will look for their size first - then dont mind a bit of a rummage to see what catches their eye!
I accept that some shops will look like boutiques - and others Primark on a bad day! that doesnt bother me - but I look for size first - then 'do I like it?' then 'whats the price' followed by a thorough examination to make sure there are no stains etc!
fussy? I dont think so? I dont think its a bargain if you get it home then dont wear it!
