Find it helps to look in shops in well off areas - better stuff!! Found a gorgeous pair of shoes in Wigan the other week when we were visiting relatives, but they were a touch too small - grrrr!

You were lucky, it's usually only pies and peas you can buy in Wigan.

Definitely!! I live in Kingston Upon Thames and round here the charity shops are amazing. Once my sister found out that her friend at University bought all her brand/designer clobber from CS here she keeps begging to come visit me so she can shop!! I know when I need a nice suit for internships I'll head straight to a certain CS which has a brand new red mango skirt suit for £15 and a prada skirt suit for £40  And the evening wear in there is incredible!!
At the moment, I look first at the jumpers - homing in on anything cashmere!

After I got a cashmere cardigan for £7.50 my Mum's got me on the look out for a nice jumper/cardigan for her too :D
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
  • I mainly go into charity shops for kids clothes so that's where I head first, then toys if my son is with me (and I let him choose something as a treat), then bric a brac. I love charity shops have had some really good bargains over the years! Trying not to shop at all at the moment though so am avoiding them :o
It is only a bargain if you need it!

Kitchen stuff, books, bags and then clothes. I never look at mens clothes either. I think they are always more worn and poorer quality, no idea why

Linens first, then books, bags, junk jewellery, clothes. Never go for shoes, am a size 3 so they never seem to come up and don't really like the idea of wearing second hand ones anyway.

Bric a brac (currently looking for a nice rectangular cut glass tray and always on the lookout for stitching stuff), books and then a quick glance at ladies' clothes and shoes.
