1) is the stuff in the tins as good as the cartons?

Thanks
The tins are still 97% meat content, the main ingredient is lungs instead of chicken! I am pretty sure the tins don't contain the 'Macroguard' that is supposed to be an immune booster, but it is not essential (might be good for an FIV cat).
The tins are quite a bit cheaper £2.40 per kilo on Zooplus; chunks in jelly are £2.90 per kilo; pate is £3.20 per kilo. You can get the chunks in jelly for £2.48 per kilo and pate for £2.56 per kilo from Seapets tho.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Right, going to give the tins a go!!! next month anyway. have to use up the cartons for this month, much to the cats dislike!!! they are eating it, but there's certainly some flavours ie reindeer, that they really dislike!! which flavour of tins seems to go down the best?

Well.....I have found that the chicken and the beef are more popular with my lot than the prawns or salmon....which is good as actually overall those are better choices as I know too much fish can be hard on the kidneys.
I don't know about the main ingredients being lungs though....my interpreter did not say that. It certainly looks densely meaty when I serve it up. I always warm it and mush it up with a good splash of hot water and they all seem to like it served that way!0 -
Nothing wrong with lungs, lots of animal protein!
Offal in general is very nutritious, I'd much rather feed Noah lungs than derivatives or cereals as I appreciate the honesty of the brand. And if the mogsters enjoy a food containing 97% meat at a reasonable price you are onto a winner IMO.

Yeah point taken FF....I just looked on the label and it says 'lunge' so yes I guess ingredient no1 is lungs. But I agree totally that I prefer that to any kind of cereal or promises or fancy plant ingredients.0

really - how so?0 -

as my two are senior cats I reckon I will stick with the cartons then - superior to much `senior food' on the market I imagine.0 -

Too much phosphorous? Also, apparently the larger amounts of unsaturated fats are not so good for cats.
TBH I presume this is less of a problem in a fish flavoured balanced cat food which will only contain a small proportion of actual fish, mixed with just as much meat. Probably more of an issue with a cat fed lots of human tuna or even cooked fish.0
