Read here for info about statute barred debts - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=25_liability_for_debts_and_the_limitation_act (this factsheet relates to england & wales only)
but they could still take you to court before August, they could sell on the debt and the DCA could then take you to court before the 6years are up.
I wonder how people like you can sleep at night. Do you have any moral justification for giving idiots like the OP advice when anyone with an ounce of common sense and morals would just ignore them and not even bother to post a reply.
There are people who perhaps have a good reason behind wanting debt statute barred but can you tell me how this applies to the OP?.....

I sleep very well thanks:). I am simply informing the poster of the law. I have at no point expressed what I think about the situation. The morals are that the law is there for a reason:)
Its not about whether the poster should pay the debt back, its about whether they have to legally. Besides as you and I know there is all chance that they will locate her before August and possibly take her to court before then for the £9000.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

How exactly was it rude and insulting??? If it was ,which I don't believe is true then report it as abuse..
Care to answer the question??..
The OP says she got the loan out ,then moved abroad to work as a rep, so she totally forgot about the money she owed, which is amazing in itself. Then to come home and try and get away without paying it back.0 -

Not a "no win no fee" solicitor are you??? Ambulance chaser??.
So you don't have any moral dilemma? .
So if you were cold called by a builder saying your roof was knackered and needed a new one, quoting £10k to repair it.You knew it was not true and sent him on his way,Only to see him knock at your elderly neighbours house, Old Mrs Miggins (recently lost her husband of some 50 yrs) would you intervene and tell her to get rid of him????0 -
