I tried this recently. You call the number and you are put on to an automated voice which asks you questions of the cinema, your name, address, dob, newspaper reading/buying preferences etc. Be warned that since it is automated, if it doesnt recognise what you say it would take more time asking you to repeat your answer - meaning you are on the phone a lot longer than the 4minutes that they say the average call will last. So you might end up paying for the tickets through the call :0

When I did this I was given a 6 digit code which I had to write down on the printout and take to the cinema. However, when I showed it to the person at the cinema he hardly glanced at the code making me wonder whether I should have just put 6 numbers on the paper and tried my luck :) But not sure whether this was an isolated case and whether the others have a list of codes against which they check so wouldnt recommend it unless you are extremely brave.

Thank you. I imagine that you could probably get in with a random code with some persuasion. I would try this for a better movie, but Zidane seems to have only mediocre reviews. It seems like you'll only really appreciate it if you're a big football fan, which I'm not :)

This is quite a mixup as most of the cities are incorrect! I can't imagine everyone getting tickets for the wrong theatres!!

Thanks for explaining this - I've now picked to go to 'Belfast' even though I want Coventry! If I get tickets to Belfast will post them here as anyone picking Belfast by alchemista's logic will get tickets to Southampton!! Have mailed BBC so they may fix this if not will be major ticket swapsies!

What was the 6 Digit Number...If the Automated service Gives the Same Number everytime ...there would be no need to Phone

If you post it and then somebody else can confirm that they have had the Same number ...Everyone can see it without having to Phone.

Unless the Codes Are Venue Specific and that is why the Cinema Person only needed a Quick Glance....So Posting the Venue you applied for as well might be a good idea ...That is if you are willing to do so.

    Redcar

Usually the Form with the BBC Printed tickets sent in the Post is that they Have the Venue Printed on them ...I have never Received any other Type from the Beeb in the Post.

And I would not expect The Poster / Sender at the BBC to look at the Address they are Sending them to either as I once mistakenly applied for Tickets to a BBC Screening in Glasgow (and I live in Cardiff) ...But I still got the Glasgow tickets.

I hope you will have more Luck ...but wouldn't hold my Breath if I was you.

Sorry - I dont have it with me now. Most probably I have written it down somewhere and left it home so will post if I find it. But I dont think that it is the same code that is given every time you call. it must be a randomly generated set of digits maybe starting with a particular sequence (I hope that makes sense  ). The point is whether the code will be checked by the cinema before letting you in.

You are Probably Right...And Yes it makes Perfect sense.

    But you never Know.

It might be worth it just in case

If they are Randomly Generated ..as you said then any six digit number could be used ...do you think they would Risk this.

Why would they want the Cinema you are attending ...unless it was for Numbers attending ...But how Fed up would you be if you spent a couple of Mins on the Phone only to be told "Sorry Cinema Full" either by the Automated service or at the Cinema when you Rocked up to collect your Tickets.

And Why the D.O.B there appears to no Certificate Restrictions on age ...none that I can find anyway.

Maybe all the Questions is just to pad out the Time you are on the Telephone ...cos it seems to work.

As I said maybe the Codes are Cinema Specific ...at least eveybody on this forum will be able to attend the Screening you are at if they live close enough....That is if they Are Zidane Fans.

Or the Codes could be Universal you never Know.

Somebody else Must have Rung ...they may be able to confirm one way or another

    Re The Times

I don't know whether it was coincidence but the first 3 digits were the same as my date of birth, but then I don't know how that would work if you were born from October - Dec as that would be 4 digits.... perhaps it was just coincidence?

Can't recall the other 3 as they didn't have any significance.

I did think about complaining about this, as I didn't think they were supposed to make calls longer than they needed to be, and I feel these were padded out more than they needed to be...
