P.S. I just remembered - to hopefully clarify the confusion with movie certification........

    Uc
It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. U films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
Videos classified 'Uc' are particularly suitable for pre-school children.

    PG

Synopsis: A family determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant take a cross-country trip in their VW bus. The Hoovers are one of the most endearingly fractured families ever seen. Together, the motley six-member family treks from Albuquerque to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in their VW Van. This results not only in comic mayhem but in death, transformation and a moving look at the surprising rewards of being losers in a winning-crazed culture.

    Enjoy the movie :)

I saw this on the Showcase Cinemas website. I'm sure that most children will have already seen most of the films but it may be of use for someone. Looks like limited cinema participation (none in my area!!!) just need to download a book report form I think!!!!!

    http://www.showcasecinemas.co.uk/siteindex.html

then look for the bookworm link.

    BOOKWORM WEDNESDAYS
FREE CHILDREN'S MOVIES AND GREAT PRIZES!
BOOKWORM WEDNESDAYS is an exciting and rewarding summer reading programme designed to encourage our young patrons to read during the summer months. Every Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. just bring a book report with you to one of the participating Showcase Cinemas to enjoy the selected Bookworm Wednesdays films and that's your price of admission. Accompanying parents or guardians and children under six receive free admission and do not need to submit a book report.

Each week the participating cinemas randomly select TEN children's book reports which will be drawn from all submissions and each winner will win a merchandise prize pack to be handed out that day. At the end of the five-week programme, one grand prizewinner from each location will win a year of movie passes for themselves and a friend.
