I had a customer once, problem with an alarm system and I couldn't do anything to sort it over the phone so had to send someone out. When I told her she'd have to wait for the engineer she replied "But I'm diabetic!". Never quite figured that one out

in seriousness though it is true that some people have no common sense or logic

...and agressively and obnoxiously go on about things that constitute common sense being the preserve of the likes of Peter Perfect and Einstine.

I mean I'm not Peter Perfect am I? I wouldn't have spelt aggressively and Einstein incorrectly if I were.

I had a call within 5mins of getting into the office today, from someone who we'd paid about £2000 to for equipment, who now decided actually he wanted a macbook instead of the PC we gave him.

I declined, got told he'd be coming to our offices to torch the place. I'm not sure offering the matches was the best response I could have given, judging by the further swearing I got.

Just a small vent about people who seem to expect everything should be free for them.

I had someone screaming and shouting at me today saying they want a Engineer sent out to there property asap as her boiler had stopped working. I then followed by asking if the lady had homecare which she replied no I then asked how would she like to pay for the repair in that case.

She replied " I get my gas from you."

At this point I agreed that she did. The customer then demanded an engineer should be provided for free because of this....

I explained that was not the case she then said the magic words

    " I'm on benefits"

After trying to make things very simple that a repair would cost money she started screaming im on benefits you idiot. I then said " good for you"

I received dogs abuse and terminated the call.

I really dispare of the lack of knowledge of general money management and financial matters.

I had to let that out :p

This woman was probably very confused and did not know what to do to rectify the matter, you maybe should have pointed her in the right direction, for example her Landlord.

Anyway from what i have heard about Homecare its not worth having anyway.

If she had a landlord I would have though that would have been her first point of call anyway. If she owns the place who is the op suppose to point her to?

Everyone knows you should call 999 when your boiler breaks down.

Everyone keeps telling me to say "Im a student", i don't so they say it for me and it doesn't mean anything :P

As above, any rented property will be sorted by the landlord/council (HA)

And if you don't have insurance you have to pay out for repairs yourself. Homecare takes a week or so to come out anyway depending on workload, we had one here last week. Fixed a minor problem of 2 wires been the wrong way in the central heating switch but taught me alot about how our system worked so when he broke something (left thermostat at 0 by accident) i knew how to diagnose and fix it.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
