Having a TV is rarely essential to one's life. What the consumer may perceive as 'significant inconvenience' is not always that.

Besides, it's 'up to 4 weeks'.
With the greatest of respect, surely it is for the customer to decide whether the proposed inconvenience is significant or not.

It's more of a joint thing. If you ask a customer, then 99% of the time, having to send something for repair will be 'significantly inconvenient'.

It's up to both parties to decide and sort the "How will I entertain my kids with no TV for a week?"* from the "My cooker's broken and they won't come out for 2 weeks, how will I eat?"

    *this happens with shocking frequency.

  • Just as an update, I have managed to fix the faulty pixel, by using jscreenfix, so the only problem is the flashing. I have been reading the thread at AVForums, and seems it's fairly common, but some people say it sorts itself out after a few months, others aren't so sure...

I'll try to give LG a call later today. Thanks for the advice :)

Who said "Having a TV is rarely essential to one's life"? certainly not me!

If it is the only TV in the house and there are children, then IMO it is "a significant inconvenience" to be without for 4 weeks! Even without children I would say it is "a significant inconvenience", think of all the soaps and series that will be missed:D

The TV is only 6 weeks old for gods sake, and therefore, IMO, should come under "not of merchantable quality" and be exchanged or refunded!

Iplayer and ITV player show the main soaps, so if you've got an internet connection, you could watch them on your computer.

I was going to say how can you see a "single" faulty pixel on a 50" TV unless your too close anyway.
  • We're about 7 or 8 feet away... If you have a dark screen, a single bright red pixel is quite noticeable!

Wow, that is very close for that size of screen.
  • I might consider assisting the TV to become more faulty and go for an immediate refund.

Internet conn not relevant to this thread, we are talking about a faulty TV! (not every one has the internet, and a lot are still on dial up so Iplayer etc no good).
