If I left my pans on the lawn here, they wouldn't be there when I went back :rotfl:
I managed to get rid of an old sofa by leaving it in the garden - 2 hours and it had gone. If I stick a free to good home sign, nobody takes it though - maybe it ruins the fun?! :rotfl:

I used to live somewhere like that, still miss the place at times especially when I need to decluter large items :rotfl:

My hate is (well 2 hates) ironing and dusting, I only dust when the picture on the TV goes blurry.:D

    I hate:

    - picking the meat off the chicken carcass (thought I was the only one)

    - putting away the laundry because it takes ages and we have too many clothes and not enough cupboards/drawers

    - washing up, but luckily DH does it so I don't have to
  • My tip for socks is getting small children to pair them up - they seem to enjoy it!

Agree with maggotty compost bins

  • Have to agree about the compost caddy yuk. I hate having to put my hand into to wash it afterwards even with my rubber gloves on!

I must be the only person in the Western world who does not own a microwave and refuses to get one! Somehow, it feels like it is not real cooking!
I don't use it very often but the things I do find it useful for:
    1. reheating very small amounts of food (eg the three spoonfuls of leftover beans that DS had with his tea last night).
    2. 'cooking' frozen peas or sweetcorn (again especially if small amounts)
    3. making microwave chocolate sponge ;)
Ours is a second hand one DH got from work and quite big and old!
I find it sad people who think making their tea is heating a ready meal in the microwave, this said some people have reasons (eg disability and cannot prepare food easily).
ETA katholicos has just reminded me another 2 uses (starting off a baked tattie or two and heating my wheat bag for my back!) ;).

I hadn't had a microwave for a number of years, but my parents bought me one as a present and i have to say, it really is useful for defrosting and reheating homemade meals I have dug out of the freezer. Also, although I like a nice crispy jacket on my jacket spuds, I'm not going to put them in my oven for 1+ hours if there is nothing else being baked at the same time, so I put them in the mike and cook them far more quickly. It's also great for heating up wheatbags to put on achey joints and muscles. I managed without it fine, but it is very useful and i'm pleased I now have one.

Hehe, I get my littlies to do this job too :)

My least favourite OS job is jointing a chicken, once I've done it I'm pleased with myself - it's just the thought of it waiting there for me to chop it up. Trouble is, I cannot bring myself to buy chicken breasts now because I know how blinkin expensive they are!
  • That's the trouble isn't Honey once you start being OS MSE and realise how much money you can save you can't go back to the old ways!
