Exactly - and not having good economic sense is what got me where I am today (and dont get me wrong, I can be devious with the best of 'em - but I'm just rubbish and trip myself up all the time!)

I agree with the cheque - if he asks you can always give him the cash (after pay day) but pay it off Lloyds - bet you bought him SOMETHING with the Lloyds card so it can be his contrabution :rotfl:

LOL - that's a shame! Would you say that to him if he got a cheque too?

I dont know what my BF would do, but then its never going to come up as we dont live together! But when we go on hols we always split everything - generally I pay for the holiday (as I'm the one who usually books it all up) and he gets the spending cash for out us both, then whilst we are away if we need any more he either gets more cash or pays on card (as he has better rates for foreign money than me). Then when we come home he adds up what he spent on his cards, deducts it from what I've paid for the holiday and gives me whatever he owes me as the difference (although sometimes, if its been a cheapie hols, I will end up paying him the difference). It works really well for us, its a lot easier than trying to keep track of who paid for what etc.

He is a top banana though - he is the "personal loan" referred to in my sig - I pay him interest on the outstanding balance (which was half a percent more than he could get on his investment anywhere else at the time and much, much less than I was paying in loan interest to the bank) and he has never once referred to it since lending it to me a year ago. I was the one insisting on paying more than he could get - he was happy to just take the going rate, but I didnt want him to ever say he did me a favour - this way we are both doing each other a favour!
  • Evening ahh nice when people can help each other :-) 8 days to pay day and counting :-) car was frozen this morning I thought I may loose my hand mid defrosting and scraping but it woke me upnenough to drive home :-) and I've slept great :-) xx
