Wow, Vietnam! Would love to go there.
How long is that part of the trip?
What are the rules where you work, what is the longest amount of leave you can take? xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
The Vietnam section is 2 weeks, prior to that it's ten days in Cambodia so I am going to try for the extra off work about 17 days I think (will work it out later).
The last section of the trip she's doing is walking and staying with the Hill Tribes, which I've already done so not worried about coming home a week early.
Rules are offically 2 weeks at a time, I've had longer before but had an easier going boss then!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

But you are giving plenty of notice Woo, so perhaps that will help. If not threaten to quit ;-)0

Hi Woo
Im not debt busting but trying to stay out of it!! Use ebay and now amazon to fund extras for family. Plus the fact it focuses my mind as I am a stay at home wife and mum. I am appreciative of the fact of not having to get up and go to work like hubby has to but I am not the type that would be just happy cleaning and shopping all day.
In spring and summer I am outside alot in my garden and could spend the day there if that was possible!!!
How are you today. Its not nice having to go back to work after the Christmas holidays. Take care and keep going..you are doing brilliant.:)"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

I had to go a year without a dishwasher! now mine keeps leaving white bits over everything so i'm trying to figure out what i'm doing wrong. I know i've topped up the rinse aid and i've been using so posh tablets (Fairy i think) that i got before the last one died. Any clues anyone?
Hi there
Have you tried vinegar as a rinse aid. Kim and aggie suggested this and use the best tablets seemingly! The cheaper ones are not good for the machine. I only have had this about 18 months and it has been broke 3 times now. I am so glad that I took out protection cover at £4.49 per month.
Previous to that I had an ariston for 12 years and then it died. Did without for about 10 months and then decided I needed one for definite. I would rather use the dishwasher than a tumble drier. So thats my trade off.
Will check with the engineer about your problem and let you know later.

Hi E
How old are your children? I have a godson aged 4 and a goddaughter almost 2, I love them dearly but they are enough for me, children are hard work!
I like the fact your using eBay etc to raise extra funds for the family, it's good for the environment as well as it's a form of recycling
I really busy at work this week which is great. I am such a worrier, at the moment I keep thinking I'm going to get in trouble for something even though I haven't done anything wrong! I think being debt free will help with this as I won't need to keep earning the same amount and I'm in control then!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Woo
My 'kids' are 15, 17, 19. 2 boys and 1 girl age 17. Have been at home since they have been born. Live far from family so didnt want to leave them with strangers. Put the oldest into a day care creche as a trial but I just watched the very young staff completely ignore the babies. Just didnt feel right to me. We were fortunate that we could live on my hubbys salary, though I cant say its been easy being at home all the time.
No matter what age they are there is always something they need advice on. It can be quite draining!
They are a great bunch well mannered good kids and isnt that a success in itself. I never thought when I was 20-25 that I would end up married with 3 kids! Now I am 46!!!
You are blessed to have your God children and I am sure you are so good to them. My sis is older than me and she loves them to bits and treats them like her own. She never had any and they are the only grandkids on both sides. So they are well loved.
You remind me of myself. I worry too!!! Lifes not simple and some of us worry more than others. You are probably reacting to the realisation that you have come so far ... it is quite overwhelming to see what you have done this last year. You are concentrating so hard on the final goal and now you see the finish line it can be quite scary. Its the last bit thats prob the most stressful, but you can do it and you have that great trip to look forward too. You are young with no little ones depending on you so you can do these things. So enjoy it.
I enjoy ebay and am always on the hunt for bargains to resell. I get a buzz out of selling something for alot more than I buy it. I think there is so much waste and its good to reuse. I am not really an eco freak. I think there is so much pressure and guilt put on the individual to save the planet when all it would take is for governments to insist that USA JAPAN INDIA CHINA adopt better manufacturing methods. Thats enough of my spiel!!!!
Got the diswasher fixed...so I am a happy woman:D
Have you any plans this week..you have cancelled the work night out and thats good for the budget. January is the type of month you dont really want to go anywhere do you?
Take care and thanks for listening Woo:A"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Hi there
Asked the engineer about your cloudy spots and he recommends ..
remove filter and clean
add cleaner ... you can buy these from the manufacturer of your machine.
when that cycle is complete, do any empty hot wash.
Scrape as much of all plates before adding to the dishwasher too.
Hope this helps..he also didnt recom. vinegar!!!
take care:)
regards

Hi E
I think it's lovely to stay home if your in a position to. My mum worked a few hours every night cleaning so was always there in the day. I'm not in anyway against people returning to work either, you have to do what's right for you and what your families situation dictates. Stay at home mums should never be under valued though
I'm 30 and still go running to my mum with every little problem, it does keep you close though.
I'm sure if I have no problems I have to find something to direct my worry on! It's ridiculous I worry before I get to work, everything's fine when I'm there, then I start again tomorrow morning!
It's just the way I am though, growing up friendships worried me as I was bullied throughout senior school, thankfully I have good solid friends now
No plans for this month, OH is going snowboarding again with the lads next weekend, have told him I still want his half of the shopping money though - am hoping I will be able to save lots for Lloyds!
Have you got any plans?
Yay for having your dishwasher backLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
