Good idea, had some post arrive today although only junk

Thanks, will give it until Friday then will put in a complaint

Yes it certainly is, been here about 7 years never ever had a problem before, although like i say its been in the paper recently so not sure if its the local depot or main sorting centre thats causing the problem

sending a special delivery is little reflection on your general mail service
they are handled differently, plus its gonna be a fiver for 1 letter
if you want to test then fire a few letters off to yourself over the course of a week.put a small mark on the envelope so you know what order they went in
also put a friends/relatives address as the return address

the reason i add this is incase(for whatever reason) the items are being returned to sender then you will see as opposed to them just not arriving

unfortunately RM management seem to do their utmost to gradually tear the service down
experienced posties are pushed out and new starts get little training

All of the ideas you have suggested are very rare these days. There is little to no advantage to every day consumers in using credit cards of catalogues when they have the money in the bank.

The protection that Section 75 of the CCA is a very good reason to use cards. I thought you would have realised that!

Do you know the state of my finances and how i pay for holidays or Sky and how much they cost ?

What gives you the impression im in debt

Maybe Anihilator has your missing post as he is so aware of your finances

Is it actually any of your business ?

A poster asked for help, a respected poster at that going by the post count/thanks count. They didn't ask for some comment about having two credit cards and your presumption that they are in debt.

Agree here as well. I imagine the only reason that the OP stated what items were missing is so that we could see it's not just the odd letter but a whole batch and that some of the letters contain personal details, account details etc which makes it quite a serious matter.

OP I would definitely do the test letter like Custardy suggested, try and make it look like it might be something official if you can. Keep going through the complaint process in the meantime.

now ,look at the items you have had delayed
    are they stamped
have a large M on them
or competitors logos like TNT,UK mail etc?

the reason i ask is the duty covering your area could be streamed due to lack of staff, time etc

the priority goes to stamped and dated mail
    then DSA mail (tnt etc)
    then 2nd class non stamped
    then mailsort (big M logo)
so this can lead to the delays

you have to bear in mind some folks think their service has deteriorated when it comes at a different time ;)
