  • Yay my GDT card is finished just gotta make a wedding card this weekend for a friend! Also brought the new Papermania hot foil stuff so will have a play...

Welcome Emzy - the girls on here are all lovely and helpful so you'll be making beautiful cards before you know it.

CraftyJuJu funny how your colleague is now copying you after making such a fuss when you asked where she got her tiles! Oh well i'm sure you're makes are a lot nicer anyway :p

Rusty I have a 7cm square shaker box template i've drawn for the Craft Robo if you want it?

Gemm i'm guessing from the other comments that your craft fair is this weekend? Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Ooh yeah I meant to ask if anyone uses Clarity/Create A Scene/Lavinia stamps? I saw some amazing demonstrations last weekend and would love to create something similar x

Welcome to all the new members, Emzy81, you can pick these up quite reasonable, ebay may work out more expensive have a look on some websites like craftsupermarket and you could probably get everything with one postage cost, hth,

Thats a great help thanks, just been looking on that site and its great, has lots of information too :)

Crafty JuJu Just wanted to say a big thank you for the bracelets they arrived safely yesterday afternoon. It's crazy here at the moment Carly's deaf teacher was here all day yesterday and then at t time my daughter dropped a bottle of water on her foot and broke a bone so we had the kids till this afternoon. Then my grandsons came after school and are staying till about 4 pm tomorrow.
Plus i need to do 16 teacher gifts . 2 down and 14 more to go. lol.

Ouch! I hope her foot heals soon, sounds like you are having a hectic time! And you have a lot of teacher gifts to do :)

Quick question...sorry about them all but on the craftsuperstore I can see 2 main makes fiskar and xcut....which is better? OR doesn't it matter

Wow I only popped out to sort MIL & you've posted a page & a half whist I was gone!

Emzy - Card Making and Papercraft magazine has some lovely papers as a free gift this month and I suggest double sided sticky tape as an essential (from Home Bargains or similar if you have one) If you have 'Paint' on your pc you can sometimes colour downloaded images with it instead of promarkers.

Craftygranny - Ouch! hope your daughter has a speedy recovery.

I have heard from Ezybells that it is taking a week to process orders at the moment as there have been so many. So thought I'd let you all know to save you from wondering how long your orders might take. HTH

Tomsmom thanks for the advice and the links :) Im in West Norfolk if anyone knows of any good craft shops around here?? I think we have a works in the next town so ill have a look in there next time we venture up there. Unfortunately for most things I have to make the most of online shopping :)

Ive had a quick look around and for starters it looks like I need a craft mat, a craft knife, sticky dots, and scissors....am I missing anything? Im going to buy a 'Lets make cards' magazine because it has lots of bits with it, so with that and those tools will I be good to go? And is it best to get those tools from ebay? Sorry about all the questions

The images that people colour in with promarkers look really great but im not sure I could do it, ive always been terrible at colouring in I think id make a right mess of them :(

Sorry Emzy I don't know of any shops in your area. I do most of my shopping online. I like Cutting Edge Crafts whose prices are very reasonable and free p+p. There are quite a few places with low p+p too, I just check them all out and go for the cheapest overall price where I know they give good service.

If you mean these Sticky Dots I wouldn't bother. Regardless of what Dawn Bibby says or the people on Create and Craft, they are very expensive and I don't think they'll give the same good hold as double sided tape.

If you need a recommendation for DST then I've used this seller on ebay. I've been very pleased with this tape. The carrier tape comes off easily without tearing and I think it's a good product for the price. I've tried the finger lift tape and I don't get on with it, I prefer the flush edge tape so that I can put it right up to the edge of my paper or card.

It's hard to go wrong with Promarkers for colouring. They don't go streaky like ordinary marker pens. But maybe you're good with water colours, that always looks lovely. Some people are very clever with Prisma (I think) pencils. I'm pretty hopeless with colouring and still trying to learn to shade with Promarkers.

In your other post you mentioned Fiskars and X cut. Not sure that it matters. Fiskars scissors have always been the bees knees but I think X cut have a pretty good name. Someone mentioned their embossing punches were better than another make.

I think you'd better start saving because your shopping list will grown at an alarming rate once you start  :rotfl: .

    !

Welcome to the mad house! You should add double sided tape to your list swell. I have some papers I could send you if you would like to get you going? Maybe even a few other bits? If so please pm me your address, no I'm not a stalker just a nice person!

Hassy nice to see you back! Leg is hurting but not as bad as it was, pain has moved from left leg to right leg which is annoying as I had taught myself to do things so that I could ease pain in left leg but not need to train myself again, but on the other hand it has only moved since I have lost weight which could mean I could get rid of pain with more weight loss!

Lei yes please if you don't mind that would be fab, I was going to do a template of these paper mania boxes, they were only £2 when they should have been £2.99!

Bunbun, tried to call you this morning and this evening, glad ds1 got on ok, your baby is growing up bless him! Will speak to you next week xx

Dragonllew sorry I haven't got anything like that? Could you not try and make two entwined rings of something similar to show love or marriage etc?

Can't remember what else I have read, shouldn't even be on here but I am. Will update weight loss blog tomorrow! Not as good this week but it's cool ... I have dropped 2 dress sizes! Woohoo

Have a good weekend all xxx

Meant to ask, giggle is it a sizzix you have or a cuttlebug? Just wondering if some of the sizzix box dies would work on a cuttlebug? Not for me mind as I have the robo to do things like that

Thanks, I think I read somewhere it could use things like that with the extended plates? May be wrong though, just thought it could give more scope of use if that makes sense?

Think the robo is easy enough to use once you get use to it if that makes sense? I'm lucky cause OH can draw me files like nests and stuff like that but I am slowly learning to make my own files, I am in the middle of making something with the robo for my ribbons, not sure if it will work so still a work in progress!
Not sure I could use a circuit, plus it annoys me that you pay so much for a machine like that then have to buy things like cartridges to cut and they are quite expensive, I guess in time some of the older ones will drop! Can you create your own files with the circuit or not? I know it works on scal? Maybe I should have let Oh buy me one instead of the wii for Christmas! He's got his eye on a motorbike at the minute so I best behave lol
