Good morning everyone, popping on while I have a coffee, gorgeous sunny day here.
Rainmac Congrats, that's a gorgeous box of flowers and deserved to be chosen. I can understand the lack of support from parents at school and know how much hard work it is for you. My DS and d-i-l have done so much for their children's school. It's a little village school, only about 20 children there when DGS1 first went (he's almost 15 now and there's about 36 children at the moment). Summer fetes, christmas fayres, you name it they were involved then ended up doing most of the work. A couple of times I was roped in because they didn't have enough people to man the stalls. DGS2 is about to leave there now he's 11 and DGD is 7 so still a few years left. D-i-l has just finished a mammoth painting job there as there was an inspection. She did it all on her own. I can't understand why the head didn't send out a letter asking for help, even the parents committee didn't get involved .
Gemm Looks like you've made your mind up, probably the best decision for you. Something better will come along when you least expect it.
WBR I didn't realise it was boxes and packet rate you used. My flowers aren't very elaborate so I can get away with large letter.
Marg Phew! I'm glad it wasn't me not keeping up with the list. Thanks for your comment on my garden blog. The battenburg cake, in fact the whole of the hard landscaping is planned to be replaced. We're looking for something darkish but maybe having a few decorative stones for relief or maybe those little blocks surrounding bigger flags, sort of thing. Haven't quite decided yet but anything will be better than what's down. Previous owner didn't lay the foundation very well for the present stuff and although the cake is OK the surrounding stuff has sunk in quite a few places.
Right, off for my weekly telephone chat with elderly mother, it's always a hard one that now she's reached 86 and doesn't really want to be here any more because of all her health problems and the fact that she's on her own. I wish I lived nearer but we still can't visit because she still has MRSA and we can't risk OH being infected.

Am I right in thinking that the challenge on here has been running for nearly 2 weeks - I'm sure it has - I get easily confused!!!! If so that means that it will finish tomorrow at midnight and I'll draw a winner on Monday if that's okay with everyone!!!
Rusty - sorry to hear about your Grandad-i-l - hope everything gets better for him soon. Hope you have a fab weekend.
TomsMom - your cake card is fab - I love the blue frame and the stripey paper. Your "pink" card is great too - love the little butterfly charm. Your garden is so gorgeous - I am jealous.
CraftyJuJu - more great tiles and dominoes - love the "girl with the fairies" one.
Dawnteabag - hope you have a good time at the party - sounds like you had a mammoth scrapbooking session!
Marg - congratulations!!!!
Addams - fantastic easel card!!!!!!!!!!!
O.A.P - sorry to hear you've been feeling down - I hope things are getting better for you now.

Morning (just) All!
Happy birthday for yesterday PONR
Still bright and sunny - OH is pottering in the garden so probably sat on the patio watching the weeds growThen he wonders why I don't go out there with coz it drives me mental when I do loads of work and he just sits there
Twilight inspired project finally on my blog
Congrats Rainmac - knew you'd seen it coz you'd left a comment
You seem to have made your mind up Gemma but left your options open for now - expect when you go back it'll really sort the decision out for you and good luck with the fayre.
DD's school don't have any problems with volunteers in fact I was going to do so when she first started but there is a hardcore !!!!! who run everything which kind of put me off- they don't even encourage hand made stuff so I get off really lightlyIn fact I don't ever remember having seen a craft stall or anything vaguely like it - there is a cake stall that I was "encouraged" to donate something for but you know what my cooking is like they would have paid not to have to buy it :rotfl::rotfl:
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi
I am new to card making and wondered if anyone could help me. My daughter has asked me to make a card for one of her friends, the girl is very musical and I thought perhaps something along these lines would be nice. I haven't much experience and lack the confidence to just make something wonderful. I did buy some stick ons but don't really know what to do with them. They are gold peel offs.
She needs the card in a couple of days so not much time for me search the net.
I would be grateful for any help or ideas you lovely ladies may have to share.Stash Busting Challenge 2016 6/520 -

Hi and welcome to the most expensive thread in the world ever LOL!
Do you have a printer? You could print something like this - layer it up onto some card and stick one of your peeloffs on to say happy birthday and jobs a good un
As the others will tell you no surprise that it has a bear on it
If you need any more help give us a shout - we're very friendly here and love nothing better than spending somebody else's money. :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended
