Hi, been at work today soooo busy and by the time had tea and a glass of wine (cough) its a bit late read through the last 3 pages so will just do a quickie comment now and try to keep on top of it - sorry havent left messages on blogs but WOW! some gorgeous cards, gifts & freebie links - will try and post a better post tomorrow when I have a bit more time (hubby on nights as well - so he wont know how much time I spend on here - hee hee) - rainmac - ooh good luck with your big shot -melissa - did you get yours??? If so how are you getting on with it???0
-
wanna-b-rich - your card is stunning!!! I love the monochrome look - very classy, I can't believe you made the flowers and vines yourselves - they're amazing!
Addams - hi and welcome to the thread!!!!
Rainmac - I can just imagine his attempt at a Nottingham accent!!! Why do they always pick Americans to play Robin Hood????? The only place that I've seen nesties cheap was that site that only had a few for sale - do you want me to send you the link again???? I've only got 3 sets so far - I fancy getting the ovals next!
Yes please, I'm carp and forgot to save the link:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Ali, I am very scared of having ordered it but got it for only £50 which is pretty good (I think). Now need som dies and lots of info on how to use the thing!!!
Mel, I would have preferred to hear his Aussie accent than the accent he was trying to do, think it was Yorkshire but he sounded anything but a Yorkshire man to me!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Wow this is an epic post - I've given up counting pages and have just opened two windows to try and write this post. Hopefully I've not left anyone out, sorry if I have.
Rainmac - thanks for the congrats on my 1st sale, didn't have a clue what to charge her, so I've left it to her to give me what she thinks is fair. I thought about asking £2.50 but don't know if that's too much. Thanks for the links. Congratulations on getting your Bigshot take a look on the Sizzix clearance section (no nesties but some good deals). The only place I know that has them really cheap is the place Melissa posted, I'd take a look at Oyster Stamps as they have been doing any 4 for £50 delivered on bank holidays
Skiergirl - hope your carer duties went ok and that you had a good day shopping
Scatty - congratulations on the sale, thanks for setting the chalenge, sorry I didn't play and LOL @ your cat picking the winner
Louby - good luck with your prep. Glad you had a fab anniversary break.
Flourgirl - hope you feel better and thank you for the link. Loving your jewellery.x
Marg - hope your missing mojo returns
Jowri - how lovely to hear the news about your husband.
Madfrog - hope you feel better. Re the Distress Inks - I use a silicone craft sheet from Poundland and the TH blender and start on the sheet and work around the edges and slowly inwards onto the paper. Like Lei I use circular motions. On my card I used Cool Grey 1 - 5. I put the blender pen on the areas I wanted to be white and then started with the lighest shades, added the darkers shades and then went back over the whole thing with the lightest grey. Hopefully this makes sense?
Ali.b - congrats on getting the car you wanted
CraftyJuJu - glad your blood test went OK. Thanks for posting the link to the glass pearls the other day, my brother has ordered some for my very belated birthday present. Can't wait for them to arrive now.
Choccy - congratualtions and thanks for setting the new challenge x
BunBun - glad your dr prescribed you something, hope you are pain free. I used to suffer terribly with migranes and would loose a week out of the month to them. I was prescribed some meds which greatly improved things and since having the kids have not suffered with them at all.
CraftyGranny - lol at Princess K and how brave are you letting an unknown hairdresser cut that much from your hair! Glad you had a good result though. I've had the same stylist for 11 years and honestly think if anything happens to him I will just grow my hair and tidy the ends myself!
Polkadot - hello & welcome, love your milk money idea.
Tiredmom - no need for apologies and certainly no need to send me anything. Thanks for the link to ESK - I'm going tomorrow as my friend has set it up and will be demonstrating too, plus I get 10% off tomorrow. I'm s'posed to be going to the Glitterpot on Sunday as well - but will see how much I manage to spend tomorrow! This is where I get the cheap card candy and punches from - the card candy has increased in price, but is still only £1.29 so not too bad. If you want me to grab you anything just shout. Have a fab holiday and hope you have fun this evening x
Nici - thanks for the fab lipbalm idea
Lei - love your card. Can you tell me what air cannister you use on airbrush? I got one for my birthday and can't seem to get it to work and wondered if I was using the wrong cannister
DragonLew - have a good holiday, hope the weather is good for you
The-Wife - have you got the proper Promarker cases that you make stand up and fold flat? If so are they any good? Seriously need to sort out some storage for my pens as I'm sick of rumaging for them!
Paddington - I'm going to join you on your stash diet. I've shocked myself at just how much I've aquired since January! Won't start mine 'til Monday though as off to a couple of demo days this weekend and it would be rude not to partake in a purchase or two.
Tomsmum - you do exactly the same as I do with my challenge selection. I decided to do a card for Rainmac and Choccy's challenge today and the rest of the challenges snowballed from there. I notice that you left a comment on my blog regarding the die cut flowers - if you'd like I'll try and grab you a pack or two of the flowers, just let me know which colours you'd prefer (pin, lilac or white/cream)
Addams - Hi & welcome. Promarkers are currency in this household - I even agreed to drive so DH could drink on the understanding that I got a dozen Promarkers!
Melissa74 - I didn't make the vines, I just printed them out and then cut them out. The link in my blog takes you to the blog that has them and instructions for making the flowers (she has loads of fab freebies and tutorials on flowers and butterflys).
KiteKat - thanks for the link
Phew I think that's it - really really sorry if I've missed anyone.0 -
Hi all, it's been suggested I come in here to ask about some help with card making I want the word wedding across the front of a card with two champagne glasses, I have the stamp for the glasses and I also have a heat embossing kit. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the wedding bit on, I've not been able to find any stamps that are big enough to go on the card, so I'm not sure whether to get the word on lightly then go over it in gold or make a stencil and paint it on? Can anyone help? Thank you0

Wanna-b-rich, £2.50 is soooo cheap for your card so please don't go feeling that's too much, it absolutely isn't x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Could you print the wording with a computer? You can buy sheets of alphabet transfers called rub-ons or stickers called peel-offs. HTH:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Do you have an embossing pen in your kit? If so then you could write the word in embossing ink and then sprinkle it with the gold embossing powder. You could also heat emboss the champagne glasses (if you're not already).
Alternatively, you can buy some alphabet stamps really cheaply. I think Madbout cards sells the SeeD's sets for around a £1 (only problem is their min order is £15).
Rainmac - I told you I'm clueless - never know what to ask for my handmade stuff and don't want people to think I'm taking the pee iykwim. My friends are no help either as I had one saying charge lots more and the other said she thought £2 was dear as she could get a card in ASDA for 98p:o0 -
sorry all just flying by, been a manic day, OH got home late last night :j which cheared me up no end, we have been trying to make space so bought a new table from ikea and got rid of old massive one on freecycle. Have spent the last hour or so making up a couple of cards for OH's dad!! his birthday is tomorrow and I am soooooo un organised!! but I think it looks ok. Just waiting to OH to give me the pictures when he has finished playing with them and I will blog them!
hope everyone has a fab weekend, we are busy busy busy now so probably won't have a chance to get on!!Rusty, so sorry your feeling down, start openining the pressies, they may cheer you up?
Sorry I'm not up to date with blogs, hope to sort that tonight as OH is away tonight so it's just me, the laptop, telly and a bar of chocolate
Hope everyone who is going away has a fabby time xxx
Right now you are as terrible as me, I started to open just one and got the top open to have my hand slapped by OH. I peaked inside but all I could see was silver .... was a round tube like pressie :j :j he is still threatening to take them to aberdeen with himI think I might have to kill him lol :rotfl:
Congrats on the big shot :j about time too ... now all those punches you have ... do you have a small 1 inch scallop square you want to sell :rotfl:
Right thats it from me guys, I still have wrapping to do but the party bags are done, cards are made for both DD and FIL and I am shattered :eek:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rainmac, I've not heard of those before I'll have a look, thanks.
Waana-b-rich I was thinking an embossing pen but I wasn't sure where to get any from, do you know any stockists? I'd not even thought about getting letter stamps.
I will be embssing the champagne glasses, which is why my first choice would be embossing the wording too.
Thank you both for your help0
