  • Just a quick catch-up from yesterday.
DTB – thinking of you (((hugs))). Maybe your employer will be reasonable and it won't affect your holidays; it's hardly your fault that you are stranded after all. Have just heard on our local radio that all our schools are open apart from one of the secondary schools which is closed to KS3 pupils (years 7,8 &9). 10% of teachers are stranded and can't get back to the Isle of Man.
Dragonllew – big, big congratulations – well done you
OAP – omg snow, keep warm!!
Twinklelittlestar – hope your little one's eyes improve soon, poor little love
Lyndach – hope you and oh manage to resolve things. Bless little miss and her teething.
Sorry to those I have missed. Hugs to any poorlies out there. Take care everyone, hope your Monday is a good start to the week.

    :j Congratulations Dragon :j

Glad you at least have something sorted DTB - it must be a nightmare - does your work have a family leave type thing or extra leave for emergencies?

It was my DSS who was supposed to be going to Spain - have no idea if he's gone or not - strangely enough after he got half the money he asked for he's gone all quiet :rotfl:.

Final day of the holidays today - am taking DD and her friend to see How to Tame Your Dragon - is miserable grey and wet here today - off to check DD has finished her homework :p
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Congrats Dragonllew - another well deserved appointment! All these DTmembers - we're not worthy!

Lyndach, sorry to hear about OH - I hope you can sort things out - must be such hard work on your own. If you need to vent remember that we are here.

Off out for the day (running out of places to go now). have rung work and the boss was unimpressed kept saying that I should go overland and get the ferry from France. I'm not being funny but has he ever attempted to that as a lone parent with a 9 year old child? Apparently 'lots of people with children have managed it'. I did consider options but its such a nightmare especially if the child is the opposite sex to you - imagine the scene - you're in abusy train station in a foreign country with all your suitcases and you need the loo. Your only option is to leave your child on his own with the suitcases which I'm not comfortable in doing. I'm prone to migraines too so I have to be really careful about how tired / dehydrated/stressed I get.
I didn't een broach the subject of my leave - will sort it out when I get back - hopefully by then Hr will have come up with a policy for this situation and I'll just abide by whatever that says.
Anyway - huge congrats to our new DT members. Better crack on I suppose

Is this thread by invite only or can lil old me join in again?

So sorry I have been awol but I am sure most of you understand why!! I do want to say a massive thankyou to all my friends who stuck up for me! that was such a shock but so lovely!

Hope everyone is ok? sorry but there are 30+ pages to read back through and I really can't do that! but I will say that I know who sent that silly woman over here and whilst I think you are bang out of order you will get your just deserts one day and they will come back and bite you on the bum! Then I will sit & laugh!

Also need to apologise as we have been away over the weekend and I have come back to 300+ blog posts to catch up on, but I have just marked them all as read and will try and catch up another time.

Hope you are all ok, and don't mind me coming back?

Big thankyou to Flourgirl, Padster and Rainmac - I arrived home to 3 parcels and they are allllll soooooo beautiful! xxxxx
